  1. Actually the answer is yes. They are making money by playing on Thursday nights on WVLT. Pack Man Productions pays each school a negotiated fee for playing in the game of the week and it can range from 1-5 thousand, fact. And there is no way a school would choose to lose money on purpose.
  2. I just wonder if hog will have to click, click boom anybody this year.
  3. If it's raining Friday night, I think that's a big advantage for AC, Fox and the run game. Hard to pass it 50 times in the rain.
  4. You Out!! One time Freddie saw my Oak Ridge shirt and he gave me the thumbs down sign and he said "oooh Wildcats bad" Gotta love that guy. He has his own street and there's a book about him.
  5. Ranger, I know you're just taking shots at Maryville and Alcoa but anyway. West doesn't really want to have to go to Ashville to play, nobody around here that had an opening on their schedule for Friday Sept. 12 would play them. It's not like they just decided, "we want to go play Ashville, yeah let's schedule them and lose a bunch of money on the trip." Cummings called teams all over Tennessee to fill this date. Ashville was way way down the list, they were just the first ones with an open date the same as West and they agreed to play a home and home with them.
  6. CC, our punt returner tried to field it at midfield on the run and it bounced off his shoulder pads. He may have scored on that for the win if he fielded it cleanly. We would have had one more possession if he just caught it. You've seen the bumper stickers; stuff happens.
  7. Question. What are the kicking teams like for both schools? Field goals? Kick offs into the end zone? Punt team? These things are big in a game like this.
  8. Hey CC, I've been watching the first 36 archived CC/OR games. Those are good ones too. I haven't got to number 37 yet.
  9. no seahawk, you haven't heard nuthin' yet. I'm telling you, just wait till after the game. This could turn out to be the best thread on Coach T history.
  10. yessir, they are all playing nice right now. Just wait till after the game.
  11. http://www.teamline.cc/archive_watch?teamcode=9456&id=736114
  12. I am watching the archived CC vs Central game on WLAF. They come back from commercial with this, "The defending district champs are on the air!"
  13. Can't wait to watch this one on tv. Will DB bring the whole band?
  14. 92, That's true and Jones is a good little back. But, those numbers a bit misleading. It's exactly like you said, Clinton did a good job of taking what OR was giving. Most of the 200 yards were on the last and next to last drive when Oak Ridge had a 17-23 point lead. And many of those were on that little swing pass which counts as a rush because the ball is caught behind the line. At that point, Oak Ridge felt like those hand offs and swing passes weren't going to beat them. They were content to play off and keep everything in front of them, rather than play tight giving Thackerson a chance to hit them for another long one. The Clinton offense is very good. But other than the first play of the game (which was a great play call and execution) they scored 14 points over the next 59 minutes and 48 seconds. So, they did put up big numbers, but other than the very first play, their 420 yards only netted 14 points. I think Clinton will score atleast 28 on Gibbs and I don't think Gibbs can match that with their "take the air out of the ball" style of offense.
  15. This is a very interesting matchup. Two teams have totally different approaches to offense. Clinton will throw it all over the field with about 40 passes per game. Gibbs tries to control the ball and the clock and limit the other teams possessions. I'm taking Thackerson, I mean Clinton in this one.
  16. Just wait until the playoffs, the aftermath is outstanding.
  17. It was ugly but we will take it. Lots of work to do if we want to win this district.
  18. The most hilarious of all is that Heather is the resident expert covering the Vols with her daily practice report. She doesn't know it from shinola about football. Gimme a break already.
  19. Gov, what about the time they beat Murvil without ever attempting a pass. That was 3 years ago wasn't it?
  20. Why would they not let the kids on the home sideline? I remember when Meadows first moved them over there and it was because of the fans criticizing the coaching and yelling out negative stuff that the kids could hear. Surely that crap is not still going on, is it?
  21. Let's go Gibbs, Let's go Gibbs, beat the cows!
  22. The officiating was horrible. Both teams deserved better. How can they be that bad?
