  1. Trojans have about 4 or 5 out with injuries. Friday, against Ripley the 4th string QB played entire second half. From just rumors ( not official news ) is that the starting QB is probably out for season. My personal opinion is Dyersburg should be fine. Just depends on how the team responds.
  2. Seems like yesterday that we were just discussing upcoming jamborees. Time flies. Region 7 is set and by 10PM tonight we should have the brackets for round 1&2. Strange things happen in the play offs. We all will be watching to see just who gets upset across the state in that first round. Dyersburg has had numerous injuries on both sides of the ball and other key players since game 7, and now we are down to the 4th string QB. But, that is part of the game, next man up and you go with what you have. I do think Region 7 sweeps.
  3. It was Wesley W? He and his brother moved here either that year or the year before. He was pretty good before the hit, after he always heard footsteps.
  4. I don’t think anyone is overlooking Ripley. The coach’s know that the Tigers are and always been a team that likes smash mouth football. They hit hard and if you come in the game sleep walking they will beat you. The hardest hit I ever seen was by Ripley against a Dyersburg receiver, in a driving rain storm. Hit the kid so hard, knocked his feet out from undear him and he rotated 360 degrees in the air. Sounded like a shot gun blast on impact, in the parking lot.
  5. My girlfriend knows a lot about life and football. She assures me bigger and faster is not always better. You got to know how to use what you got.
  6. Westview wins. Carson Howell is the fan favorite QB for our region. Has great stats, but most importantly, he got a lot of moxie!
  7. Game of the week, between two good teams.
  8. You know, somebody forgot to tell Westview that Region 7 runs through Highway 51. Ripley, Dyersburg, and Covington, all three very physical teams. Think AC/DC wrote a song about it……..lol
  9. Just think how dangerous Dyersburg could be if we had a “average” secondary?
  10. Massey game prediction has Westview winning 27-24. Keep in mind that these predictions use a computer algorithm that analyses data sets like points allowed and points forced, common opponent scores, schedule strength. There is no “human” analysis, which can create inaccurate prediction. The most glaring is the “points allowed”. Dyersburg starting defense has allowed, I believe, less than 4 points per game average, however, on paper, the defense has allowed about 12 points per game. If Dyersburg comes out and plays to the level they played Covington, then this game will not be close. You could see a 35-7 type game.
  11. Dyersburg and Westview game makes the Big Ones pick ‘em, and nobody has started a thread about the game. Why? Maybe Trojans fans are more interested in getting a seat at the “Grind”…… https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=605230198479163&set=pb.100069765632879.-2207520000&type=3
  12. I did not know you were a coach and was just coaching up your team on Facebook…..silly me, I thought you were just a fan, you know like the guys, some who like to discuss football, poke fun at other teams, and so on.
  13. The only thing you will see on game film from Northside is a running play right up the gut, 90% of the time. Northside stacked the box and wanted the Trojans, dared the Trojans to run. Dyersburg’s offense against NS was very vanilla, plain. Westview will be able to pass all over Dyersburg, so long as their QB stays upright.
  14. Westview throws past the Tigers 30-14
  15. Oh Bolivar will most definitely throw, throw, and then some. Their QB is athletic and hard nose, old school MOXEY. Been a while since I have seen a QB that I could say that about. Dyersburg was up 42 to 8 at the half. Bolivar can score some points.

I don’t think 4-7 are as good as Giles or Covington. These are my top 5 3A teams…. 1. Alcoa 2. East Nashville 3. Dyersburg 4. Giles 5. Covington
  17. Chargers will win out and go 8-2 for the season, and will be reloading for another shot at Dyersburg in the playoffs.
  18. Charger fan, is Steve Holt still doing the PA? I know he was doing sports reporting for the Leader. He is a good guy great Charger fan.
  19. Massey has Covington 28 Dyersburg 21. I suspect strength of schedule plays heavy in that algorithm!
  20. 1. Covington QB can sling it; will Kirby surprise Dyersburg and take the reigns off his QB? 2. Heard a lot about how good Dyersburg is up front on D, but it seems like both DC and Lake County QB stayed upright with not much pressure? Has Stowe been playing the “fox” with the D? Has Stowe held the dogs back in the first two games to maybe surprise the Chargers by taking them off the chain and getting pressure on the QB? If Dyersburg D is able to get pressure, all night, on the QB, then I will take the Trojans 28-14.
  21. The players I remember who made big impacts were Santonio Beard and Biggggg Johnnnnnn HENDERSON!
  22. Happy that both Dyer Co and Dyersburg made it. Dyersburg, no doubt the youngest team at the dance with 3 starting freshmen, will gain some good experience. 9th grader Chelby Jordan, has moved up during the season to top 50 player nationally, for the class of 26. https://www.hudl.com/video/2/422862/63d4c5254dec670480179601
