  1. There is a nice picture and mention of Schuyler Larue on page 22 of this weeks Sports Illustrated. Well deserved.
  2. One nice thing about those medals is that they haven't changed much in thirty years. The sons' are like their parents' and sisters' and cousins' from wrestling and soccer and track. Everything else has changed, but the medals are the same.
  3. I think you crossed a line when you purport yourself to be an expert and then proceed to handicap individual matches all the way through the entire tournament. If you want your favorites to make the finals, that is fine. But when you predict individual matches, from match one through infinity the kids see it and get a little bent about it. Then when you come back on here and talk about how well you did it is an insult to anyone with an understanding of statistics. One could have had a similar success at picking the semifinal matchups by choosing everyone who lives in Bradley County (Cleveland, Walker Valley, Bradley, and two from Notre Dame).
  4. After a little research I cannot find any data to support the reliance upon a headgear or mouthpiece to actually decrease the risk of a concussion. The best strategy may be to minimize exposure by stressing drilling over live wrestling except for actual competition. In essence, the only way to prevent a concussion is to prevent the brain from bouncing around inside the skull. You can't prevent that from happening, but you can decrease the number of times it occurs. Good luck
  5. Random Facts: 1. CCS frequently gets an early game. They host the tournament. 2. Initials (CPA,CCS,ND,CAK) always play teams with geographical names in the first round. 3. The initial brackets, whether in wrestling, football, or soccer, are subject to change. 4. Second place is no better than third. 5. It takes a three game winning streak to win the whole thing.
  6. The bad blood comes from a called shot on our forward two years ago. People tend to remember things like that.
  7. Delete contact: mountain troll Reason : referee's decision in his team's favor always mertorious , referee's decisions not in his team's favor always meritless Conclusion: idiot Resolution : move on, just move on
  8. i'll tell you right now, I am paying for four to go to ND. I paid for three last year but one of em graduated, so I picked up two more for this year. But to be honest, I thought that it was legal for me to do so.
  9. Mountain troll, We have a VIP parking space for you at our tailgate party. If you will be so kind as to give us the make, model and plate # of your vehicle we will have you guided right in when you arrive
  10. Awe, sounds like somebody got their feelings hurt at a football game.
  11. Yeah but I used it to make sure we had the early game Saturday so we can be in Neyland by kickoff.
  12. I fully support John Lennon. Chris Mullin
  13. Yeah, and the pope controls the TSSAA from the Vatican, so yeah that's it. It's the Vatican... oh and the Bilderburgers....and the Masons they don't like Signal Mountain either. Maybe it was the good old backside of the mountain klan ... didn't like the diversity of the team and they called. Yeah that's it, the ghost of Byron dela Beckwith did it. Get a life.
  14. CCS up 4-1 with 20 minutes left. Parity is rearing its' ugly head.
  15. Just curious why Page and CPA don't play a regular season game. It seems like a natural rivalry.
  16. I think that you should add making the second round of districts in the past say ... well let's just go with "ever" to your criteria and then recalculate. Sorry, couldn't resist
  17. I don't think they should be penalized.. I don't want them to be penalized. I think it would be wrong for a team that voluntarily forfeits their district games to be the three seed in the district tournament thereby pitting the one and three seeds in a loser goes home semifinal. That would be wrong. Hopefully the TSSAA makes Sequatchie the four seed. Then the two and three seed can play. I believe that players shouldn't play within a year of transfer, and if they do then the coach has a duty to be certain of their eligibility. Hopefully, the seeds will work out. I believe that the girl involved is a nice kid. As for your question, IMO the coach should have asked the player when she played her last game. She gets a lot of transfers, so she should know the rules. And your inference was that this was done on purpose. To which my reply is you are wrong. The fact is somebody lied, and we are arguing over who should have caught the lie first.
  18. Well, that is one heck of an accusation to make. The last participation date submitted was what the girl's father told the AD it was. The father gave the date of last participation to the AD, and the AD put that date in his letter. If her father doesn't know the date, then how is the AD supposed to know. How did the father neglect to remember that his daughter scored a goal in a region game? Heck, it was in the box score in the paper. I remember every goal my daughter has scored in high school, and i bet you can as well. TSSAA says the the burden is on the family and the new school to get the last date of participation correct. So to summarize, the father either lied or is stupid and the coach didn't check the facts. If this was the nefarious plan of the AD, then it worked so beautifully that one has to admire him. But to me this is just one more reason to think you letter to the editor writing hypocrites at the "it's like a private school" are full of it. I have known the AD since kindergarten. I have verified my facts. They taught me to verify my facts before I make accusations at ND which is "like a catholic school".
  19. Here that everybody Canes says free pizza!!!
