  1. Congrats to DeKalb; after some of the stuff Cannon Co. people did, it's really embarrassing they got beat.......Cannon, if ya gonna prank, ya better back it up; think about that next time
  2. That would sound something like "Smith; rolls to his left; throws to the far corner of the end zone..........TOUCHDOWN SMITH!"
  3. I'm not saying it's good to make excuses, and while it is true that the other team has to play in the same conditions, rainy, windy weather DOES favor the team that runs that ball as their main attack as opposed to passing the ball.
  4. Did you just say Red Boiling Springs was getting better????? WOW.......You do know they made ESPN's web site a couple of weeks ago for losing x amount of games in a row, don't you?
  5. FCS is still looking pretty good.......But I don't think they'll win it all. They still haven't beaten TC. I know TC is having a down year, but when they get their guys back from injury, they'll be playing better. Plus, if you know anything about TC, you know they always, always, always, bring it come playoff time, in every sport, especially football. Let's put it this way: if and when TC gets into the playoffs, they're gonna be a heck of a 4 seed to have to play in the first round.....All that being said, if I had to pick a champion right now, it would be South Pitt. But I expect this year's 1A playoffs to be full of suprises, because unlike in years past, there's not really a clear-cut favorite.
  6. Sorry, I know this is off-topic, but how do you post as an "unregistered". It just caught my attention.....
  7. That is awesome! Mmmmm.....Gallatin Green Wave comes to mind.....
  8. HEY GUYS LET'S ALL POST OUR FIRST POST ON COACHT IN ALL CAPS!!!!!!!!! jk football mom. Good to have ya!
  9. Not a good move, forking the field of a decent opponent the night before you play them for your homecoming.......could come back to get ya! And hey, speaking of field vandalism, didn't some Gordonsville guys pour oil all over Smith County's field like the night before they played at SC a couple of years ago? Seems like I was at that game, saw spots on the field, asked somebody about it, and got a half-butt-I-don't-really-know answer. Help me out......
  10. I say play where they put ya. Play the schools that are close to your size; that's the fair way to do it.
  11. Whoever was talking about Smith County fans sitting on their hands until there's a big play was right. SC's stands at home are packed with people consistently, but there's no atmosphere. And I think that's largely in part because a large part of the fans are older people, not students. But still, it would help greatly if ALL the SC fans would get crazy during whole game, instead of just sitting on their hands like you have said.
  12. Hard to argue with 3 guys averaging over 100 yards a game; that sounds pretty well-rounded to me.......
  13. Mt. Juliet Christian can't write a check and pay for a new building.....And I don't know whether or not FCS turned down students so they could stay 1A, but I wouldn't doubt it. But like I said, I don't know, and don't claim to know...
  14. I'll have to take Gordonsville in this one
  15. Mmmmmm......Oookkkkk????? And the all caps didn't help either
  16. Over TC, FC, Watertown, and Gordonsville??? Not to mention a decent Monterey team???
  17. FC looks like the team to beat right now, but there's a long way to go. They've got a tough game with Watertown this Friday.
  18. This game is massive, every year, no exceptions. I agree with the comment about it not being on the big ones. How crazy! Even though I didn't go to either school, I normally go. 7:00 kickoff?
  19. Well said. And the guy who's talking about TC playing a weak 1A schedule????? Livingston, Westmoreland, Smith County, Friendship Christian.....And I'm not sure if it was the same guy or not, but TC absolutely does have the atheletes to play 3A. They might not be the favorite to win the gold ball EVERY YEAR, but they'd be above .500 9 out of 10 years, no matter what region they were in.
  20. I think you've gotta take it year by year. You play whoever gives you the best chance to win in a particular game, season, or even a particular play. Throw age out the window. But I will say that it really gets on my nerves when there's a freshman who is close to being as good as a senior, but not quite, and the coach plays the freshman because he wants to "build for the future". What are you supposed to tell your seniors who've worked their butt off for you for 4 years? "Sorry guys, I'm building for next year"???? I don't think so. You play the best players and the hardest workers; reguardless of age.
