Same ole same ole. Why is it that you Union Citians think you are the best thing since a pocket on a shirt. If it were not for that Honda/Harley store, there wouldn't be any reason for anyone to ever visit the town. Just a bunch of know it all snobs who don't know how to handle sucess without rubbuing their good fortune in everbodies face. So you have beat LC on a consistent basis, you didn't prove anything to Humboldt did you. I certainly hope that in the coming seasons, LC takes UC to the outhouse in some sport. They will show you how to win and be good sports about it. You are all no class having SNOBS! All of you.

First of all congratulations to UC on winning the championship and representing district 14 and region 7 (the most competetive in the state). With that said... "Lake County only beat UC 1 time when the starters were on suspension....". That hat is getting old Union City fans . Move on and enjoy the title this year. We will meet you on the court next season and maybe the rivalry tag will be justified.

Thats not completely true. I know at least 3 guys who attended the entire week and their team was back at home. I'm sure there were a lot more who did the same. Also there were several who attended the final day who didn't have a team playing, they are just great high scholl bball fans. I don't know about the whole week, but Saturday the Murphy Center was pretty full. I had to find a new seat everytime I got up to do anything.

Most teams at the high school level are "held up" as you call it, by 1 or 2 "all stars". I watched the game Saturday night and what i saw was Shelbyville being the better team. Me calling them the better team is my opinion and thats all. There were other teams in the TSSAA tournaments last week that I would also say were better TEAMS than Hamilton, but thats just an opinion as well.

Shelbyville was the better TEAM and played better TEAM ball. This was just one of those times when the better TEAM didn't win. But they should be proud of the game they played.

Congrats to Coach Sisco. You called a masterfull state tournament. Great job MARTY!! Oh yea, Shane was there too!

Are Union City and Lake County the only A teams to beat Humboldt this year. Without going back and looking it up that's what I remember. LC beat them 3 times and UC beat them 1. Isn't that right.

Just look at the rebounding numbers. That will tell the tale. You can't get out rebounded like that and have any chance of winning.

Anybody got the number to call for advance tickets for Saturday's Finals? They were gonna give it on the broadcast but I didn't hear it.

By looking strictly at their record I too will say they are underdogs in this matchup. I always like rooting for the little guy, and besides we here in the LC never root for a TORNADO. Go Highlanders

copenoc is right, some of us LC fans will not support Union City. It's nothing personal, we just don't support anything that has a tornado attached to it. Ha Ha. But some of us are actually pulling for Weddle to win Mr. Basketball

I haven't seen the other Class A Mr. Basketball finalist play. I have seen Weddle about 5 times this year. He is a great player, no doubt. I don't think anyone can say some player is underated or overated if they have nothing other than stats to base their opinion. I don't have a vote for the award, if I did I could only vote on what I have seen and know for fact, and the fact is Marquis Weddle is a great hgh school basketball player. Ok, he had a couple off nights this year, so what. The voters will vote for who they want to win. It may not be who deserves to win, but who they want to win. If they haven't seen Weddle play, they may not want him to win. Maybe that's how it should be, I don't know. I have seen him play.... and I want him to win. Good luck Marquis

Don't let that 7 points fool you. He dropped 45 on Humboldt's defense, and Humboldt ain't no slouch. The kid can play.

I would really like to see Cloudland pull the ultimate upset but that may be asking a little much. They will have to play the best game of their young lives. UC can play, Mr. Basketball candidate M. Weddle had a really bad night against Middleton (defending Class A Champs). He only scored 7 points and UC was still able to pull out a miraculous 1 point win at the buzzer. He is very capable of scoring 30-40 points on a good night. You have to limit what the other 4 get. Don't blink Cloudland, you will find yourselves playing catch up real quick. I'll be pulling for you, go get (HIM) them.

Don't worry Wes, Union City gets to go home tonight. Then maybe Middleton will get whats coming to them a little later. I first wanted UC to win, not now. It's not because of the team, it's beacause of that "we are so much better than anybody" attitude of the fans. And they can call it what they want, cryin, excuse whatever, they very well may be the best AA school playing A ball. I hope they lose by 1.
