I'm not sure but I think that Wartburg,Sunbright, and Oakdale have just as many Gold Balls for football in their trophy case as Coalfield does!! Wait a min coalfield has won.................never mind you're right catback!

I thought that OS had 3 senior starters leaving after this season. Smith #33, Copeland # 42 and Parton #25. You are right O.S. Started 3 seniors this year in every game I saw them play which included all but 1 of their tournament games.

My concern is what will wartburg have if coach davis leaves? If they have no teaching positions then how will they find someone to coach. I've heard that the community is going to make up money to pay Jay Moore to come to wartburg, but why would they pay him extra money to coach football but not pay Coach Layne any extra money for taking the backetball program to an entirely new level? If an unproven coach is worth thousands from the community how much is a proven winner like layne worth? I just think that we've had a break with reality in wartburg. I think our program needs to work on it's facilities and see that they are the best in the Region, and work to provide much better coaching but in terms of adding assistants to the sidelines....even if it means bringing in people that are from the community. However, we had better think seriously about where we might go for a coach if Davis steps down.

I feel like O.S. and Unaka will both be very good after watching them play saturday!

As for the transition to the high school level and the fact that the team will suffer or not. Time will tell there. We will be able to see by this point next year how the lack of experience effected the season. NO AMOUNT OF TALK ON HERE WILL DETERMINE SUCCESS, IT WILL BE DECIDED ON THE FLOOR!! Being at Wartburg Central Middle and playing against no schools in your district that are larger than you, you should always be in the top 3 teams in the district by shear talent. Now with that being said I believe that Jason does have a strong desire to be a good coach but I don't know if he knows how to get there. I just don't think it has the same effect on backetball. Lets look at the facts Over the past two seasons Central High with an enrollment of 421 has lost to Greenback 4 times (enrollment 248), Oneida 4 times (enrollment 367), Coalfield 3 times (enrollment 199), 4 times to Oakdale (Enrollment 141), 1 time to Harriman (enrollment 350). That's 16 games in two years that we've lost to schools that are smaller than we are. Oakdale and Coalfield have been to state tournaments and together their enrollment of around 340 would still leave them much smaller than Wartburg. In 2005-2006 they finished behind Oakdale, Cosby, Oneida, and Greenback in Region standings. Size is simply not as important in Basketball, Dallas is a GREAT coach, but even great coaches in this sport lose to smaller schools. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> I think sportsman needs to spend some time training under a more knowledgable and disciplined coacht member before being allowed to post again. /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":angry:" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> The program is going to be fine!

They have 3 or 4 big girls and have played well at times this year. I think they are pretty well balanced. Play well inside out

Wartburg's Taleah Armes Soph. and Ashley Settles Jr. are alot of fun to watch when they're playing well. Oakdale's Korin Pease Soph Oliver Springs Barger Jr. and Kayla Soph.

20 and 11 is pretty impressive. She accounts for alot of her teams total production.

She's going to be truly great. I almost think it's a shame she isn't playing in a bigger school to see how she stacks up against other possible D-1 players. But I guess that's what AAU is for

I think it's time for a change in Kingston. Been a fan for a long time and I don't think things are working there and quite frankly don't think they ever will under present coaching staff!

Oliver Springs fan seems to be a solid group of Wacko's....and i mean that in the best possible way. They are fun to watch!
