  1. Wait, how are the "spoiled rich private schools" not getting their way? Only one private school has been mentioned in regards to wrestling Bradley, not any of the others such as Ryan, BA, MBA, and CBHS because, geographically it's not logical. However, when you have two schools that so happen to be ranked #1 and #2 that are located so close to each other, it only seems logical AND GOOD FOR THE SPORT to have them wrestle. And as many have stated (which I don't deny) that Coach Logsdon has done much for our sport in TN and been a great promoter, I don't see why he wouldn't want this match to happen to help the wrestling in our state.. And killer, please keep the "rich private school" comments coming, they are quite entertaining.
  2. So your accusing hime of being biased since he works for a DII team?? Actually bayou, the number one ranking wouldn't be an issue at all if bradley would just wrestle Baylor, which they refuse to do. Therefore, you or any others, can't blame the voters for placing Baylor ahead of Bradley. If Bradley doesn't like it, then they should man up and wrestle Baylor END OF STORY. So it looks to me like the best team in TN is from The DII.
  3. Or perhaps because there aren't enough good DI teams to fill the top ten..
  4. I can see all of the above matches won by MBA, except for 171. I do think Floyd and Wesley will be close, however.
  5. I think you're exactly right. It all starts with the middle school programs and traveling to AAU tournaments during the off-season. To answer your question, MBA and Ryan both have had middle school programs who have dedicated coaches that spend time away from their families to take these kids all over the state and the south for experience. In my opinion, Blackman is the perfect example of this. They have come up the ranks because of their successful Sharpshooters program and they have great coaches who are dedicated. It looks as if they will be competing for many years to come which is encouraging to see for all Middle Tn public schools.
  6. PBD, my intention wasn't to bash your team because as I have said previously, Blackman was the better team against Ryan on THAT day. I also didn't intend to ruffle your feathers, I was speaking more towards tnko, who wrote after the match between our teams that DII is inferior. Which is ridiculous but that discussion is for another day. And what starters for Indy didn't wrestle against Ryan? Ghouse, who does a good job with rankings all year long, stated that it looked like the same Indy team that has wrestled all year long. So it seems as if Ryan wrestled Indy's original team. Not trying to argue with you, just confused. And I do applaud your encouragement of other schools' programs. It is great to see programs such as Blackman on the rise and I think we can agree it is crucial for high school programs to establish a feeder program if they want to compete for state championships... Best of luck to your Blaze at state.
  7. Good win for THE Irish, and yes the Purple Irish are THE Irish; atleast until next season's match rolls around. One thing I took from the match was how impressive BCB's young'un at 112 and Mullin at 103 looked. I was going to write about the pre-match festivities, but I think I'll let BCB take that one. All I'll say is BCB looks good in purple.
  8. Well what do we have here- Ryan beats a good Indy team, who layed a beating on Blackman ( Yeah yeah it was early in the year and wrestlers weren't in their correct weights right, pbd? Which still doesn't explain a 44-16 loss), yet at the time tnko and others were proclaiming the obvious proof of DII being an inferior division. Hmm it just doesn't make much sense. So, tnko, it looks like Indy won't hold onto their rank as you hoped and hopefully this might explain why Ryan is still ahead of Blackman in the poll. However, since those polls are so important when it comes to February, I'll leave it for you to ponder and waste your time. Go Irish
  9. Oh yeah actually all the voters are affiliated with Ryan in some way it's actually a huge conspiracy.. Even though those rankings mean so much.....
  10. Well it's definitely dead since you said the exact same thing in the other thread..
  11. I think I'll hold off until BCB makes his predictions.
  12. Oh c'mon BCB give that Jv division some credit. It must not be too bad if it gave your irish team some trouble in the past /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  13. Whoa Hey now BCB it seems you all may have a trick or two up your sleeves with a recruit from Ohio! Perhaps you could share a few of those bucks with that purple sister school in Nashville, they could use it. Good luck on the upcoming match against a tough Ooltewah.
  14. As always, you seem to have ample words of wisdom--"do the duck the rematch." I'm sure you are aware, or more likely you're probably not, that due to the toss Ryan had to show first and when it came time for the 152 match Cash was still behind his teams bench and had no intention of answering the call had Mr. Marchetti gone out. So let's be realistic for just a sec, even you iron, and all admit that no matter what the toss had been neither wrestler would've gone out. Hopefully that won't be the case at the State Indiv. However, as Navy has mentioned earlier that coaches do what is best for their team to win, I can only assume that was the case for Ryan seeing as they did win the match. Or perhaps that's the lineup they intend to have since Matt Brewer wrestled at 135. I'm just speculating though. Could you or anyone else elaborate?? If Calloway's father is the issue I always remember him being a nice fellow and I believe he was a ref for a while?
  15. Actually, He is not diminishing Clanton's win at all, but merely providing just one example of Cash not letting his athletes wrestle. As he stated, It would've been more beneficial for Tuani in the state tournament to have wrestled Clanton in their dual match earlier in the season. I also understand that coaches do what is best for their wreslters and team, however since BA didn't win the dual match last year (or this year) and Tuani lost to Clanton in February, did it end up being the best thing for his team or Tuani?? Just curious..
  16. I believe Calloway beat, possibly majored, Mr. Mosley in the McCallie tournament to answer your question about the past. However, I'm sure you didn't already know that.. Oh and please don't give advice to others in regards to class, even if the phrase "thrown around" is that classless. In fact I'm shocked he would say such a thing!! Perhaps we can all become as fake with our congratulations for other teams and our posts as you are.
  17. 103- Mosley (Ryan) over Calloway(BA)--toss up 112- Watson (Bay) over Maurizzi (Ryan) 119- Manley (Bay) over Ray (McC) 125- Hooker (McC) over Doster (Bay) --toss up 130- Hayes (Bay) over Francis (MBA) 135- Austell (Ryan) over Hanniford (CBHS) 140- Duncan (McC) over Agnew (Ryan) 145- Hayes (Bay) over Bateman (Ryan) 152- Marchetti (Ryan) over Cash (BA)--If Cash is at 52-- Wish the match would happen again but not likely. 160- Cash over Todd (MBA)- If Cash is at 60 171- Wesley (Ryan) over whoever Baylor brings 189- Mix (Ryan) over Helton (Bay) or Jarrell(MBA)-- Not really sure could be any of the three 215- Brasher (BA) over Mackey? (Bay) HWT- Carrethers (BA) over Severson(St. Ben) 1. Baylor 2. Ryan 3. McCallie 4. CBHS
  18. Hmm, yes, sitting out two matches this late in the season when wrestlers are in top physical condition would really make a huge difference. Actually tnk, many wrestlers have their "bad" match of a tournament on the FIRST match due to many reasons and they wrestle much better in their later matches. So, it actually wouldn't be a benefit at all to have wresters sit out for the first two matches, which is also why not all of their starters did which you stated since I assume you know so much about the inner workings of Ryan's team.
  19. First off- Congratulations to Blackman. Though the Irish may have some injuries, it's not at all an excuse and doesn't take away Blackman's win. It's apparent that the Blaze wanted it more and they were the better team on that night. However, after reading your detailed scores of matches and the comparison of the two divisions, you have proved Rocky wrong for me since the number one 215 in Division I was only able to major a first year wrestler. Not taking anything away from Patton's win, but if your gonna play the comparison game, it should be done both ways.
  20. Besides sounding like a broken record, you still crack me up ironman. It has already been mentioned by some that the woman you keep referring to is not Mrs. Simpson. You talk about Ryan fans being classless, yet you insult a hall of fame coach and his wife which, regardless of whatever circumstances, is crossing the line. Perhaps we should all learn our humility and class from the likes of ironman.
  21. These posts, particularly ironman's, are quite entertaining. It seems that the only reason Ryan fans are jerks as stated so intelligently by ironman and others, is simply because they are passionate and cheer for their team. And it is seen as worse simply because they have numbers- more fans than other teams at the tournament. If any of you are going to attempt to sit there and tell the rest of us that you and your fellow fans don't cheer and go crazy when one of your wrestlers win, boo a kid if he taunts and doesn't show class, or yell calls at the refs such as stalling and TWOOOOO then you are RIDICULOUS( correct spelling ironman). I cannot count the times I have been at wrestling tournaments where the parents of a team cheer EXACTLY how you are accusing Ryan fans of cheering for their team. Also, it's these same fans from these teams who yell the most ridiculous things that don't even make sense. Atleast know the sport and know the rules if your going to yell at the refs. It's so entertaining to see fans from schools that have no clue what they are talking about yell things at the refs such as "that's a takedown" when neither wrestle is even in a position to score, actually come to think of it Rigger, one of these instances was from a Hendersonville couple at last year's Ryan tournament. Lastly, lets get one thing straight- I am not condoning some of the Ryan fans behavior, but for those of you to say that all Ryan fans are jerks or have a negative perception of them because of a few is completely ignorant especially when you know only a few. However, it's also disturbing to say that Cash's behavior is acceptable, as so many of you have stated. Let's just take a second to imagine if he had done that to you and your fans, would you be a little upset?? I think so.
  22. Well hello there, BCB. I'm flattered to see that you have taken such an interest in me. If I had known you were making the drive to the Purple team's tourney, I would've cancelled my trip to Tunica! Furthermore, I wouldn't write anything in stone in regards to the match between our two Catholic schools. I'm sure your boys will have something up their sleeve.
  23. As I said before, this "roping off" that you and ironman are referring to happens at any tournament for the host team. I won't get into the matches being all on one mat for the Ryan wrestlers because that's ridiculous and carries no relevance- all of the matches are random and assigned by weight class to each mat and are run through that way. And if people have a problem with the Ryan tournament and if it's not enjoyable then don't waste your admission ticket and don't come, especially if you don't have a dog in the fight.
