  1. Yeah both sides played extremely hard and it was a great game to watch. The refs, however, were terrible inconsistent and almost lost control of the game it seemed. They missed more calls than I can count and didn't set any kind of a standard that the players could get used to. They put a damper on an otherwise excellent game. Quality chances for both sides were few and far between. CAK had one late shot that almost won it but Patrick Baird made an incredible diving save to preserve the tie for Webb. On a disappointing note, I lost a lot of respect for Brandon Tarr after this game. He had a very late challenge that took out Webb's sweeper for a good portion of the game and employed tactics that seemed dirty and extremely childish. While he was very dangerous on the ball and made plays, they were overshadowed by his dirty and cheap play. Overall though, it was a great matchup between two of the best teams in the state and both should go on to have very successful seasons. Also a CAK player had what looked like a fairly serious head injury; anyone have any updates?
  2. Webb won by 2 today at Sullivan South and Stein's knee held up pretty well with the brace. I think he will start tomorrow. Also, the high is supposed to be in the 60s tomorrow so hopefully it'll be a fairly warm game and the field won't be too bad. As far as the outcome, since I don't want to pick a tie, I'll go with a homer pick: Webb 2 CAK 1.
  3. stein isn't 100% but he's testing the knee out in the game at sullivan south today, as of now he's cleared to play.
  4. Neither Tadd nor Parks have coacht accounts. I know they read some of the threads every now and then but neither of them post on here.
  5. no...but yeah McCallie is always strong and won't be overlooked, but the team is playing real well right now so we'll see how it plays out
  6. Let's quit arguing about the Webb lineup. The players are in their current positions for a reason. The only spots that are realistically up for grabs are 5 and 6. The topic is about the best DII teams. Baylor and Webb will come out of the east, MBA out of the middle, and MUS out of the west. Those are the only teams with realistic title hopes. However, so long as Baylor doesn't fall asleep at state, they will win.
  7. Walling is stuck at 4 b/c he deserves to be there, simple as that.
  8. Webb's top 4 spots are always the same. Parks, Hatcher, and Crist don't lose to 5 and 6, maybe 4 once a year. To put in in other words I watched Hatcher beat Mackebee (playing 5 at the time) left handed.
  9. Webb hasn't made it b/c of how strong Baylor and McCallie always are. This year they have strong seniors and a fairly deep team. The State Champ will come out of the east this year.
  10. 3-0 Webb is quite a bold prediction considering the history between these two teams. This should be one of the best games of the season to watch with all of the talent on the field. Expect the winner to come out on top by one or maybe two at the very most.
  11. stein is just as important to webb as cody is to west and would run cody up and down the field all day every day. both provide extreme stability in the mid field. complaining about injuries doesn't do anyone any good and doesn't change the outcome. just move on and play the next game
  12. DII will be between Baylor and Webb. Seal and Onken are extremely strong but Webb's three seniors, Parks, Hatcher, and Crist, could carry them far.
  13. there's more of a drop after 4 than 3 for webb. haydek and mackebee alternate spots. DII is going to be ridiculously close this year. It's going to be between Baylor, McCallie, and Webb. Keep in mind that Baylor and McCallie have the home matches and Webb doesn't.
  14. Seal, Lang, and Parks from DII are the best in the state overall.
  15. Tarr is certainly a huge threat to score from anywhere at anytime but don't underestimate Webb's defense, who have played together for a long time, or the instincts of their sweeper. Both teams have a lot of talent all over the field and play solidly in every aspect. Looking at the recent history this game is almost a toss up. The quality of play is at the highest level and it should be a great, hard fought game; i think Webb's depth of talent helps them prevail in the end.
  16. both teams played well shorthanded, webb was just deeper and controlled much of the game. there were good chances and build-ups, alex hutchins finished off a rebound and had a back heel assist on jared's goal. walt scored for west i think. while west played extremely well in their last few games, for people to say they were the best was a little premature

I don't know what spot Brewer normally plays, all I know is that he played #1 vs. UT and got beat 5 and 6 by Bobby.

    best racquet

No, bigger the head usually means that the racquet is going to be lighter with more power. The smaller the racquet head, the more stiff it is, therefore there is usually much more control. I agree though, personal preference.
  19. I have to agree that Chris i has the edge. I know Chris very well so I guess I have a bias, but I have played Ian a couple times and Chris has the edge to me. Chris not only is more consisent with really heavy topsin on both sides, he has the experience and mental edge over Ian. Ian does have a huge forehand, but Chris has the tools physically and mentally to work around Ian's forehand. My prediction: Chris beats Ian 4 and 3

    D II State

O yeah definitely. As I said, I congratulate McCallie and they are the 2006 DII state champs, hands down. They won it fair and square. It is not there fault the draw fell how it did and Baylor cramped up.
  21. Congrats on winning state. I know webb and siegel have had some bad blood on these message boards, but i truly congratulate you all on winning state. That is a very big accomplishment and I'm sure you all are excited. Again, congratulations and I hope to see you all next year at state only in different divisions. Hopefully we can make it there next year. I hope we do another one of those matches in Murfeesboro next year, again. Only I hope it doesn't rain. haha. Do you think we will?

I agree Cutters. That match was not about who was the better team... It was about who didn't cramp haha as bad as that sounds. I think we all agree that if it was played on a different day, Baylor would have won. With that said though, McCallie is the 2006 DII state champions and congrats to them. By the way cutters, congrats on the state championship. Well done. I've got to admit, after seeing you all play Bearden in Murfeesboro about a month ago I didn't think you all had it in you to win state, but you definitely proved me wrong. You all obviously took that loss to Bearden as way to get better, and you obviously got better. Congrats and good luck next year. I hope we can do that thing in Murfeesboro like we did this year, except I hope it won't rain this time.

My prediction was wrong in the championship. Due to some serious fatigue and great play, McCallie won the DII state championship 4-2 over Baylor. Here is how it went: Bo beat Charlie in 3 like cutters said with both cramping Tariq beat Julian in 3 Wes beat Tanz in 3 Orlando was up 4-3 in the third when he had forfeit because of severe cramping. He couldn't even get off the court, and was taken off by an ambulance. Lee Gammon beat Henry 4 and 2 So it came down to doubs where: Henry and Pare beat McGregor Wallis(in place of Orlando) and Jimmy Epps 8-3 Congrats to McCallie, the 2006 DII State Champs

    D II State

My prediction for today: McCallie over MBA easily then Baylor over MUS in a long tough match, like this: 1. Bo over Lang in 3 2. Heflin over Onken 3. Tanz over Watson in 3 4. Orlando over Addington 5. Wills over Gammon And it goes down to doubles: 1. Lang and Heflin over Bo and Tanz 2. Baylor over MUS: I know Julian plays two doubles, but I'm not sure who he plays with because they played him with Tanz at regions, and then I know Watson plays two doubls for MUS, but he played with Heflin at regions... regardless, Baylor has the edge in that I think. Baylor wins 4-3. Then in a Baylor vs. McCallie final my prediction is this: In singles: 1. Bo over Charlie 2. Julian over Tariq 3. Wes surprises Tanz 4. Orlando over Pare 5. Henry over Gammon Comes down to doubs again: 1. Bo and Tanz over Charlie and Wes (not finished though) 2. Julian and whoever over Pare and Henry Baylor wins 4-2 and is crowned Division II state champs, sadly. I'm not from Baylor, McCallie, MUS, or MBA... that is just a prediction.

What are you talking about? I never said anything about Siegal stacking or recruiting. I was simply talking about the fact that you said that that is what we should do and that you used that Charles Barkley quote. I said nothing about the Siegal team other than i don't know what you all do because you seem to be in on the whole cheating thing since that is what you said we should do and obviously you like that Charles Barkley quote. With that said though, I am confident that you all do not stack or recruit because I don't think that you all cheat. I don't think that you all recruit (it would be kind of hard to recruit as a public school anyway because of zoning) and I do not think you all stack (I don't think you all even need to stack either because you all are good enough to win regardless) so sorry if that is what you got out of what I said, but that is not what I was trying to say.
