  1. No one is "putting Gallatin down"...just want to know what's different this year than in the last three years. Gallatin is 1-3 in playoff games in the past three years. This year's seniors have been around during all that time, so what's different? Try answering the question rather than criticizing the questioner.
  2. Regardless of how they finish, can they make it past the first round of the playoffs?

Goodpasture at Ravenwood both Blue Cross Bowl teams for the last two years.
  4. Let's see...Simple joined in Mar, 2005 and this is the second posting. Maybe we'll be lucky and get to wait another year for the next brilliant comment.
  5. Congrats to the Rebels for another D2 championship! You guys were just great in your final two wins! By the way, what was the score of the Brentwood / Cookeville game? And does anyone know why Brentwood didn't play Ravenwood this year...Franklin and Centennial did, but why not Brentwood?
  6. MJ falls to the region 6 champ for second year in a row.
  7. Congratulations Bulldogs on a great season and victory against our Raptors tonight. I remember our first gold ball last year and know how great it feels for you tonight. It was fun being one of the final two teams from among the 32 that started this journey a month ago.
  8. Even though we lost tonight, at least we were at the game. After years of being a Bruin fan when older kid went there, I'm amazed at the lack of class that has developed among some BHS supporters like you. Must be envy of some sort. Kinda tough, I know, when the spin off school starts achieving more than the "mother" school.. Thankfully all BHS fans aren't like that. I can honestly say that, except for when we play each other, I'll always pull for BHS to win. This is my third championship game in three years...the first with the Bruins and last two with the Raptors. Fun to watch, an honor to be there, and you need to have some humility win or lose

  10. Let's see, Sarge...last year your claim to fame is that you beat OR in the regular season but you didn't make it past the second round in the playoffs. This year you made a better run at it but still came up short. Those sour grapes will make your tummy hurt if you keep eating them. Lookin' forward to a great game tonight and the one thing I can say, for sure, is that the 5A gold ball will return to Middle TN once again.
  11. Ditto for Snowy and also for Cleckner. If he continues on his current path, you can lock up QB next year with Becker.
  12. Hey rookie...here's a quote from one of YOUR posts after the Gallatin game. "Here is a quote from one of your classy fans sitting behind me..."rip his head off, kill him"...great maturity and class. The kids played their heart out for Gallatin, the fans need to show the same respect for others." I think you lost your class and YOUR maturity is in decline. Our kids at Ravenwood have been playing their hearts out and with huge amounts of class throughout the season and, especially, the playoffs. You demean them and the rest of us Raptor fans with tasteless posts like this. Where's your "respect for others" (to use your own words)? A classy person would have the courage to apologize for a post like that one. Not just to Smyrna fans but to Raptor fans as well. By the way, it wasn't funny.
  13. You're right Wave88 but we'll be happy to share that record with our neighbors here in Brentwood. 4 years of varsity football, 3 years in the playoffs, 10-1 playoff record, and second trip to the big game is something no one else has done. We Believe.
  14. The "believe" argument is kinda silly. Both teams have had the kinds of success that flows from a deep belief in themselves. Their players believe and their fans believe. Ravenwood's use of the phrase may have a little more history but that shouldn't keep the Bulldogs from believing in their team as well. To see how they've risen up after the drubbing by Riverdale inspires belief and huge amounts of respect. I've also been eyewitness to the Raptor playoff run and championship in 2005 and have seen Ravenwood fight through a tough start to this season only to end up back at the ship. Raptor fans never waivered in their belief in the great group of kids who wear the red, black, and gold. Some on this thread will talk smack and others may take offense at the use of a slogan. I'm just willing to wait a week and let this whole thing play out on the field.
  15. First off, I have to say that I'm so glad Ravenwood is not playing Ooltewah. Not because the Owls would win, but because I don't have to read posts from all the smack talkers from there. I swear, some of those people think the sun and moon hang over their school and have no clue about the quality of football played in middle Tennessee. Well thankfully they learned and the heartiest congratulations to the Bulldogs for their fine victories during the playoffs. Smyrna has had a remarkable tunraround and you should be proud of your fine team. I'm pretty sure most knowledgeable observers understand that neither Smyrna nor Ravenwood are the same teams that played such a close game in week 5. Each team has made incredible progress and stepped their games up several levels. This Saturday is going to be a game between two exceptionally talented teams who will bring tremendous skill and motivation into the 'boro. One thing I can say for sure is that both the 5A gold and silver balls will find homes in middle Tennessee this year. No score prediction...no smack talk...just a great game!
  16. Guess it was Father Ryan that failed to win six games this year (unless you want to count all their scrimmages) and Ravenwood is playing for a gold ball in 5A. This has to be the dumbest thing I ever saw...all these smack talkers after a preseason scrimmage.
  17. So are you some kind of sophomore or something at smyrna? Why don't you go back and bother the ooltewah people and leave this string to adults.
  18. Snowy is a really bright kid (as well as a terrific offensive tackle). Any Ivy League school would be lucky to get him as a student and an athlete. He's also a great kid from a fine family!
  19. BTW- Not trying to start anything racial but why do U have so few black athletes on your team? I think your team only had one black athletes last year. Haven't really thought much about it but went back and looked at the rosters...had 4 black athletes in 2005 and 5 this year. Some of our best players and finest kids!
  20. Bottom of the bracket teams host in even years and top of bracket teams host in odd years once you reach the quarterfinals and up. Look up the brackets at the tssaa web site and you'll see what I mean. Only exception is at the quarterfinal level where it is still possible for teams from the same region to be playing each other. In those instances, the higher seeded team hosts.
  21. Hey Owlbino, I know this is a little off the string but, in your opinion, could Ooltewah beat McCallie. Helps me to understand the strength of the Owls.
  22. Just curious, Buzzman...who would win...McCallie or Ooltewah?
