How has CHS looked in their scrimmages? Who have they played so far? I think they play MJ this Thurs.

I know finding a coach is not easy. I understand that you need to find the right "fit" sometimes as well. But every school has to go through this and if you, as the principal or AD, cannot handle the job I cannot help but think that you are not qualified to be an administrator.

There have been several west tn. teams that have made turnarounds recently. I think now that Hickman County is playing at the 2A level that program under Swenson can look forward to some very good seasons. I think that program is showing a hunger for winning. East Hickman has no history but should be able to compete in a few years in the new region. It appears to have great facilities. Harpeth could begin to make headway now that they are out of the private school region. That program (Admin, coaches, parents, players, community) needs to decide if they are serious about competing in football. The basketball programs and baseball programs seem to have been successful. There is no reason that the football program cannot do the same. It was a tough place to go play for a long time. Mt. Pleasant and Giles county have turned once terrible programs around.

It seems like it will be a great opportunity for someone.

I am still amazed that this position has not been filled.

Maybe not Johnson but Nowell instead?

I think the folks at Columbia would feel very fortunate to have a coach like Coach Sharp. I do not know how he would feel about trying to make that program competitive in that region.

What about Donnie Webb form Franklin? He has head coach experience and has done a great job at FHS.

Seems to me that you are just fooling yourself if you think that those players involved in the goat incident will ever been seen in a good light. I have never heard anyone say that they did the right thing. I am willing to bet that the only people who speak up in favor of those players who walked out are the players that did it and their parents. You can keep making excuses and saying you were right but when I saw Harpeth play in the late 90's and 00,01 they were good and since those players left and this player revolt happened they are terrible. I am sure thaat there are some good kids in that program but that program was tainted by some people that did some very bad things. I have heard 3 people say that when this years senior class graduates that program might get better. I know some of those seniors are probably good players but it sounds like some of them will not be missed. Its hard for a community to support kids like that and kids that apparently lack discipline and do not work out. I don't think that would ever happen in west tennessee.

Blue Devil doesn't make alot of sense so I looked it up. During WWI the Chasseurs Alpins, nicknamed "les Diables Bleus," were well known French soldiers. Supposedly this is where Duke got the Blue Devil nickname.

Fulton is just deep with talent for this to be a game.

Sycamore has struggled recently but they will certainly overmatch Harpeth. Is Halstead (sp?) still the head coach at SHS. I met Tharpe when he was there and he seemed like a great coach and I hope that Sycamore will continue doing well. Why is it that Cheatham and Sycamore can be competitive in that county but Harpeth can't? I know it has do with the region they are in but why do SHS and CCHS beat Harpeth like a drum when they play. When was the last time HHS beat either one of them. It seems that some people are wanting to take up HHS but two schools in the same county seem to own them right now (and they are not private). Of course they can''t compete with Goodpasture, CPA, Lipscomb etc. but why do they get beat so bad by Cheatham and Sycamore?

Move NCS out as well the beat Harpeth also!
