  1. Thanks and God Bless to all the current soldiers, sailors and airmen that are serving our country and to all veterans. Also many thanks to those WW2 servicemen and women. Many of them are no longer with us; we lose more with each passing day. If you know a WW2 veteran, be sure to shake their hand and tell them you appreciate their sacrifice. They saved the free world & truly are "The Greatest Generation."
  2. You know, I'm more of a spread guy myself... /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> I like to spread my fat slow guys out in space...I believe it gives us a better chance to exploit our opponents weaknesses... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  3. Catsvoice: How is the situation with the Tullahoma stadium coming along?
  4. If you're a coach looking for some video software to help your program these are the two I would look at: http://www.apexfootball.com/ http://www.landro.com/ Used for scouting, tendencies, video editing including highlights, cut-ups etc. - Good programs...would love for our school to have one of these, but we'll have to wait a while Good Luck!
  5. The old TPS campus over on Foster Ave. is now being used by Metro as Nashville School of the Arts.
  6. I'm sure y'all have heard the old story about one of their players who broke loose on a long run, scored and just kept on running.... /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  7. I was looking at the school website...the DANCE TEAM has it's own web page, and the football team has nothing?? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> Give me a break! /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> Redzone, you said that the practice field was in poor shape; what about the rest of the facilities/Weight Room/Fieldhouse/Stadium? Do you think there will be any serious committment by the administration to improve the program or will they hire/promote a PE teacher to oversee the program in a baby-sitting capacity? I'm just curious; I know a couple of excellent young coaches with HC experience who are looking for new challenges.
  8. Does anyone know anything regarding the football program at Montgomery Central? I noticed they haven't won a game in the last 2 years, won once in 2006 and won 2 games in 2005. Is it a problem with administration, coaching, overall talent etc.?? Most every other school gets mentioned from time to time (some much more than others) but I don't think I've ever seen a single post regarding their football program, good, bad or whatever.. Would love to hear from some fans & folks in the area who knows whats happening with their program.
  9. The championshp game for Div 2 class A & AA should be held at the same time the Div 1 champs are played on the same weekend. George Plaster, Mark Howard or whoever would just have to work a couple of extra games. Sure would beat watching another Crime scene show or reality garbage... In 2009, Div 2 - A will be increasing from 8 to a total of 22 schools that play football. This will make for better competition both during the season & in the playoffs. I realize that it's because of the current limited numbers of these small privates, but the existing playoff format of being in the state championship game by only having to win one or two playoff games is ridiculous.
  10. Is the White Co. football job open?
  11. They do a good job; Hats off to Coach Fite & all the other coaches that work with their special teams. I like how Hendrix Brakefield & Jacob Noe have really improved over the last couple of years. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  12. Good Luck to the Burros this Fri. nite! Question: Who is the special teams coach for Hillsboro?
  13. Coach T: Have you given any thought to breaking the Div. 2 - A (small pvt. schools) out on the message board site and putting them in with the class 1A/2A group? The small pvts. have more in common with the smaller class public schools & many of them will no doubt be scheduling some games against each other. Also there will be quite a few more small Div. 2 schools (especially football) than the larger Div. 2 AA class has. It's just a thought...it may be more trouble than what it's worth to change it... BTW, keep up the great work!
  14. Thank you for your concerns over the 2008 LCA schedule.
  15. You know not what you speak of. I can assure you the Coaches/Staff were pumped & ready to play. The boy's simply decided to call it a season. Several are on vacation with families; others are getting ready for basketball. It's just a bowl game & that's all they think of it; it's not like you get huge rings and the Lombardi Trophy for winning it. Football players will now get several weeks off & then it's back to off-season workouts. As far as the schedule, it was what it was. When you start a program from ZERO you have to schedule games as you can get them. See JWG's post on teams he tried to schedule. If you have a team with limited football experience (only 3-4 on LCA's squad ever played any sort of MS/HS football) you don't immediately sit down & call MBA, Hillsboro, BA, Alcoa etc. to schedule games unless you have some sort of death wish. Next year will be MUCH tougher & we know that; but you have to start somewhere. We are looking forward to the challenge of playing in D-2 A & we'll give it all we got. BTW, Zion has improved in 2008 from the last several years; if Zion can win against CA then they are bowl eligible.
  16. LCA had several home-schooled players this year; some of which had family vacations immediately scheduled right after the regular football season. They would not be available for any sort of post season game. In order for those kids to play at LCA next year they will have to enroll. The staff would love to play one more game vs. a 5-5 or 6-4 opponent; maybe the loser of the MTCS-Forrest game?? It would be another game to enhance the very young program and win or lose, help prepare for next season. We would get to see where we stand vs. some quality area football programs. Looking back, I too would give anything to put the pads on once more; however the mind of a 17 year old doesn't think that way. In 5-10 years they'll wish they played a bowl game but right now they just don't see the point of one more game that would mean basically nothing to them. I know that public school division the goal is to make it thru 15 games; in D-2 A there aren't nearly as many schools and thru the playoffs consist of something like 12-13 games??
  17. Congrats to the TomCats for winning the Region championship! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  18. Is TC going to show the same "private school love" this week vs. FCS that they did last week vs. MJCA?
  19. Just curious: Did FC give any thought to going over to Div 2? Some of the pvts. who stayed in Div 1 (CPA & NCS for example) was kind of surprising to me.
