It's the opinion by most readers who support Unaka that Mr. Fritz editorialized in this article with the intent to demean the accomplishments of our young people. I believe that is the issue at hand.

I agree with others on here, it is not an either/or proposition. You've got to know your kids and the situation. At some point though you will have to be able to play small ball to win. I think outstanding catchers in the major leagues only throw out 35% of the baserunners. Good enough odds for me.
