what if your GPA is the same as how many championships you have played in?

Then that means this years Seniors should have a 5.0 GPA as this year was the fifth straight year that R'dale was in it. I would love to see it 6 in a row as that would mean the 'clone' will have gone there EVERY year of his High School football experience. :)

Four championships in 10 years! Now that is what I call a dynasty!!!!!!! :D

Maybe we do need a 6A classification after all. ;)

How can a high school player play in 5 state championships? Last remember high school was a 4 year school. And even at that I am pretty sure that Riverdale has a freshmen team so wouldnt it only be 3?

REDT , you are on the ball. Looks like you cracked the case. Only at RHS can you play 5 yrs.

But actually, Dave Thomas played 4 years of Varsity ball.He went to and played in 4 Champ games. 04,03,02,01.......with 2 rings obtained his freshman and Sr yrs.  To my knowledge, he is the only Warrior to do so.

Yea, i guess i had forgotten about him since there are few cases when a freshman plays alot in 5A football.

You are correct 2priceless. Only a couple people I know of have 2 rings: Dave Thomas: '01 & '04 & Eric Locke: '94 & '97.

There were five players on the 2004 championship team that were also on the roster for the 2001 championship game against Hendersonville. They were Dave Thomas, Jermaine Alsup, Jonathon Gooch, Bryan Smotherman, and Justin Jones. I don't know if any of those guys got rings in 2001.

I was NOT saying that the seniors played '5' years. Was just commenting more that Riverdale had been in the Championship Game that many times. What other school can say that they have been in the Championship game 5 straight years? This is especially true at the 5a level.

Freshmen at R'dale get moved up to Varsity if their play warrents it after the Freshman season ends. 'If' they win the state championship they (the Freshmen) have the option of BUYING their own rings for that year. The booster club does not help freshmen with the purchase of their rings at the Freshman level.

Per section 22 of the TSSAA Handbook, isn't it a violation of the rules for a booster club to purchase rings for the team? Maybe they interpret them as "medals" or "trophies"?

Dave was the only one of them who got a ring.

    • middle school kid and a freshman from what I’m told.
    • While one may be inclined to perceive this narrative through a lens of fiction, it behooves us to recognize the inherent robustness of its credibility. For those seeking veracity, the surest path lies in direct engagement with the primary source. Let us adhere diligently to the matter at hand, focusing our deliberations on the matter of paramount importance: the identification of the individual most suited to assume the mantle of head coach. I invite introspection and discourse regarding not only personal preferences but also the criteria defining merit and suitability for this esteemed position.
    • If it’s one single kid then that argument would make sense. He’s essentially had to replace his entire coaching staff in the first two seasons, and like it’s been pointed out only one left for a better job. The two most talented players in the area both left, and number of others are actively trying to leave, including the head basketball coaches son. Also, the rumors of financial problems and over spending by Jones. Unpaid bills, missing money, inability to fundraise, has the boosters sick of being hit up for money.    Im saying that is the definition of a poorly run disorganized program. If you want to pretend it’s a well oiled machine maybe you should take your maroon glasses off. All I know is I wouldn’t let my boys play in that kind of mess.
    • It usually gets tiresome when posters play characters on the board, but I must admit that I’ve found some humor in wingback’s take on this art form.  However, his rundown on the potential candidates seems as much fiction as his persona!
