lcsoccer
Anyone can score vs. a weak team. The true finishers will find the net vs. the big boys. Running up the score means NOTHING, and it takes more of a person not to score five goals vs. a terrible team. Just my two cents.

BigG
What I would like to know is are these players scoring 3-4-5 goals in big games, or is it against weak teams? The leading scorer for prep-xtra last season scored most of his goals in 3 games against horrible teams.

I would rather score one goal in an close game rather than four or five in a game against a weak team. Some teams run up the score to try to intimidate other teams they play later in the season, but if you look at their other games, it is easy to see how good they are by how they performed against good teams. In my opinion, scoring a lot of goals over the course of a season doesn't automatically make you a good player. Some of the best players in the state don't have stats that stand out, but they do have skill, leadership, and are consistent players. mulchykeeper
Sometimes our coach sets a limit for us if we're up too bad against a weaker team. We just have to possess the ball the rest of the game. It kinda stinks but makes us better players.
chssoccer17
yea most coaches make their team do that when they are up big. and if they dont they should. i hate seeing games like 26-
CoachChris
Brian Jones of Lexington HS has 8 goals in three games and BJ Buck has 6 (they are 4-0, but the 4th win was by forfeit!) thumb thumb thumb thumb 825637359[/snapback] Jones and Buck added one more goal to each of their totals tonight versus McNairy Central (5-2 final score)

lcsoccer
You must take pride in feeling good about yourself when you score 10 goals vs. Boofoo County
