New TSSAA Rules

I heard about these news rules that are put in effect for this year and they seem a little ridiculous to me. If a single profanity comes out of your mouth, even if its accidentally, they kick you out of the game. If you wear ANY jewelry on you during the game, they give you a warning and then you get kicked out. Are these rules a little strict or is it just me? :P

I think the bean ball rule has the clasue about attempting to move so that you don't have people chasing the ball trying to get hit.

I think the profanity rule is great. Why do you need to be out there cussing? I don't think that anyone starts out cussing, and thinks it is a good thing. Everyone knows it isn't right to cuss, but they try to make it acceptable to fit it into their way of doing things.

Enough preaching.

I agree, but if people are just standing in the box that is rightfully theirs, and not the pitchers, then they should be able to take a pitch off the back without moving and still get a free base. If they step over or move into one, that's a different story.

Yeah, and I'm not the kind of guy to go out there cussing on the baseball field, but if something slips out when you are really mad they should really not be so strict about that.

You know, I can understand no jewelry in basketball, but where is the issue with it in baseball??? :D

the jewelry thing doesn't make much sense to me....i ran cross country and i had on a wwjd bracelet and a watch, and out of the two, they made me take off the wwjd bracelet....neither cross country nor baseball are true contact sports, so i don't see where any dark-colored, non-reflective "jewelry" affects game play whatsoever....oh well, guess they just have to make an all-emcompassing rule to take care of some jewelry that could prove to be distracting

    • Sounds like y'all got a lot of bodies to choose from. We lost 2 really good seniors and have 4 from Junior High that has moved up. That will give us 12 starting summer camps. As you know we all have to stay healthy. Proud Alexander and Micah are going to play together at Bethel. They were really fun to watch at the All Star game in Murfreesboro. They have real good chemistry together on the floor.
    • Baxter will do what they most always do.....at a minimum produce at least 9 Ws and run into at least the 2nd round.....Booger actually enjoyed seein them in the Gold Ball contest last season.... Booger just sayin
    • Catholic North will provide them both a decent contest Booger just sayin
    • Well personally I see us going 9-1 so that isn't doom and gloom to me , Most people are thinking 6-4. Bearden will be the possible loss but hoping not. I was very impressed with what I saw this spring.
    • the kid you are speaking about, played in JV games,  2H half Science Hill game, split time in Hardin Valley and Bearden and that was it.   The upcoming Senior RB was All Region as a Junior and is regarded by the media as one of the top running backs in East TN for 2024 season. Scouting services have him as a top 10 back in the state.  Something aint adding up with gloom and doom. Maybe he was hurt and not at spring practice when you watched?
