With 3 weeks left, the district has been very competitive. Tullahoma looks like it has the inside track to the regular season championship with only 2 losses and 2 more probable starts for Morris, but they have 2 more losses than I thought they would have @ this point. With the records being what they are , it looks like the Tourney winner and runner up could be any of the 7 , depending on who gets hot the 1st of May.

The "firepower" hasn't quite lived up to expectations after the back to back to back homers in the first district game agaist FC. CC bats have been silent since then. They need to find some consistency if they want to win in May. They have to find a consistent number 2 and the bats have to have at least some consistency. Not stroke 12 hits one game and then 2 hits the next against similar pitchers. Good luck Raiders

Looks like Tullahoma wins the regular season since Lawrence Co. lost to Shelbyville tonight and Tullahoma beat Lincoln Co. Go Cats!

Shelbyville or Columbia could theoretically tie Tullahoma if Coffee sweeps them. Lawrence could also theoretically tie Tullahoma, but would lose the tie breaker due to Tullahoma's sweep. However, I don't see anybody beating Morris, so it looks like Tullahoma is the District champ. Thats what was predicted before the start of the season. I guess the tourney will be at Grider. The tournament should be competitive, just like the season.

I have heard that the tournament has changed. 6/7 play in game, 1 and 2 get a

bye. 3 playes the play in winner, 4 and 5 play. then 1 and 2 play the winner of

these two games. I am not sure about the losers bracket. but the 1 and 2 seeds

get rewarded for their season.

That rumor has floated out there, but I was under the impression that the tourney format has not changed and will be the same as last year. If the rumor is true, there would be a real advantage to finishing 2nd. Under the old format, the incentive is to not finish 6 or 7 to avoid the extra play in game. 1 had an advantage by hosting and by catching the play in winner with their 2nd pitcher in the 1st round. 2 through 5 really had little difference under the old format. But if 2 gets a bye, that would be a big advantage.

Hey Flyball, I stand corrected. It looks like your info is correct. The tourney is at Grider and 1 and 2 apparently do get byes. Finishing 2nd is now a big deal for 8AAA.
