Sounds like it was a good game. Could you give us a few details?

Riverdale scored 8 runs in the first inning, they were tearing Ty to pieces. Oakland then brought in J. Farmer and he and Andy Berg held them to one run the rest of the game. Oakland didnt score until the 6th and put up 7 in the final 2 innings (9-7 not 9-6) but couldnt pull off the comeback, but props to OHS for not giving up after the first inning

Will Underland started as pitcher for Riverdale, Ty McCleary for Oakland. RHS 8 runs in ther 1st inning. Josh Farmer came in for OHS. then Andy Berg. Cody Woods closed for RHS. Cody Harrell hit HR to make it 9-0 and Oakland made a great attempt to come back in 6th and 7th innings. Several double plays by both teams. A few questionable calls by the field ump. Set up for possibly another great game Thursday at RHS.

The final score was 9-7. Oakland gave up 8 runs in the first and then a solo shot to cody harrell. It was 9-2 goin into the last inning. Oakland came back 9-7 and oakland has got 1st and 3rd with 2 outs and mitch warren up to bat. He battles pretty hard but then he strikes out ending the game. Oakland played great defense with only 1 error. and riverdale gave up 3 errors. 2 coming in the last inning. Cant wait for round 2 tomorrow. good luck to both teams tomorrow!

WOW What a game!! Will Underland threw GREAT!! Oakland did battle back. P J Polk and Drew Fann go 2-3 for Oakland and Rusty Howard doubled and drove in three for OHS. Underland 2-4 with a triple, and Cody Harrel 2-4 with a HR for RHS. I hope tomorrow game is this good maybe with the other team winning??

One other thing about this game. It was great to see the two team battle and play hard down to the last out, but it was also great to see them stand in the middle of the field in small groups after the game and cut-up with each other. We all could learn something from them!!!

IM glad that you mentioned that... we always hear when there is a scuffle or some shoving but you never hear about the good sportsmanship that is the norm. did the kids talk some smack on the feild?...SURE but when it is all over with they have been playing ball with and against each other since they were 5 6 7 years old and most of them are freinds i know every kid on that oakland team and every kid on the RIVERDALE team and they are all a bunch of good kids but when you put on that RIVERDALE uniform against oakland it is ON good job oakland on not quitting when we had yall down and good job RIVERDALE when things got tight you didnt panic you just finished the game out had fun cant wait for tonight

GO WARRIORS

That's a great point. When I played at Cookeville, I knew a guy on Oakland's team and we'd chit chat and cut up after our games. Our schools hated each other, and still do, but we still respected the other. Baseball is a game. The greatest game ever invented. These kids respect it and play hard. But there are also friendships that are made between opposing teams players, whether it be through summer league teams or at camps that help us to realize what it is all about.

    • Great to meet you too.  We're going to work hard to get back.
    • I extend my gratitude to ManCoverage for initiating this discussion thread tailored to the residents of Trousdale County. In times of adversity within our football team, it is imperative to have an outlet for expression, and what better platform than CoachT's Craigslist forum? I respectfully request that GOAT exercise discretion in his commentary, as his remarks have caused me personal distress.
    • I am inclined to wager a substantial portion of my financial assets on the likelihood that Waggoner shall transition to an alternative coaching vocation prior to the year 2028. It is my contention that discerning individuals are beginning to perceive his coaching prowess as lacking in the requisite excellence. Allow me to articulate the following assertion: Waggoner represents a markedly superior choice compared to the individual who perpetrated the act of fuel theft.   This individual exhibits a conspicuous propensity for frequent professional transitions, a trait which undermines his credibility and renders him an untenable choice for serious consideration. It is indeed confounding that his candidacy continues to garner attention and support.
    • Yeah same   It’s definitely true that tough times make tough kids, but some kids just have a big passion for the game and will become the best of the best no matter where they come from.
    • Hope you enjoy it King and good to meet you at state this year. Good luck to the Lady Landers. Keep battling.
