East Tennessee team looking for tournaments or play days in knoxville to Bristol area of East Tennessee. Might be willing to travel to the Cookeville or Nashville area if the dates will work out. Would prefer to play Friday and Saturday, but will consider Sunday if a must.

Call (423) 733-4967 and leave message and I will get back to you.

Ask for Rick

P.S. I may also be able to put together a 15 and Under team also.

Coaches,

I wanted to remind you about our next boys tournament May 20th, 21st and 22nd.

This will be the first year for a round robin style of tourney. Top two teams in each age group will play in the finals on Sunday with the winner and runner-up receiving trophies. We will also be selecting top 5 all-tourney team in each age group.

The cost is $150. If you played in our earlier tournament then you will receive $10 off if you sign up before May 13th.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to call.

Thanks,

Greg Ledbetter

    • That was after the 2nd year of a 4 year cycle.  Since Covid we have been on a 2 year cycle.  So, there really isn't a "mid cycle" reclassification this time.   Idk if there's anything in place to address the issue of a school closing.  My guess is, nothing can be done.  This would be akin to the 1st year of a 4 year cycle, where a school has the 20% +/- but not allowed or even have the option to move up or down.
    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin
    • Yes Justin Cruse was named head coach
    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
