Great job coach. What was the final score? Also, where did Elrod wind up signing. She has had a pretty spectacular year.

Ok Coach.................we made a deal about going to Memphis this year and we thought we really had a chance if things went our way but getting sick wasnt one of them!!! I will really try to come down and support you and really proud to call you a friend and a great job of coaching! Now what is next on the agenda for YOU?? Hope I can be a part of it!!!! :) thumb

Great job of coaching Coach B!! I am glad you are back at the substate! Good luck and hopefully you will make it back to the state. I know it has been a long haul for you but you are almost there. It has been a long time since we roamed the coaches boxes in Chattanooga together. I will be keeping up with you!

Ashley Elrod definately signed with Austin Peay. She was overlooked by the SEC schools and I think those coaches will regret that when they see this girl pitch in the sectional tournament on Friday and possibly the state finals next week. She finished the year with a record of 26-2 and surpassed the 1000 strike out level during her Sr year. This girls got game!!! :P

Very few, with the exception of maybe the UT Coach and possibly the Ole Miss coach since they are so close, will watch the state tourney. Most of the bigger conference coaches, such as the SEC, never pay attention to high school ball. They look primarily at how the girl does in competitive summer leagues where the competition is much better than in high school. The coaches that do show up there are usually there to support the girls that they have already signed, not to recruit other girls.

    • I have no idea who your team is, but Memphis and other Shelby Co. schools have hardly made a dent, if you’re talking Game 15 appearances. Outside of a couple by Whitehaven, I can’t recall the last team in a final.
    • Robbed you guy at a chance of 3 state championships. You never kne, sond best team in the west my have beat you also, but you sure deserved the chance to play um.
    • Eagleville also loses Brown the catcher, Lamb CF, Mclemore RF (Heck of an athlete) and Drew the 1st baseman. They will be young.
    • Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!
    • Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.
