What do you all think about the coaching last night or the coach why would any coach in the bottom of the seventh inning(tie game 4 to 4 )keep his outfielders shifted like he did we had our left fielder playing center with a man on third base and the ball was hit straight to the left field line. Great piece of hitting but why would you keep the shift on? The last two times we have played Ripley Geno kept the outfield shifted and it cost us in both games.

Covington has not been playing that well the last three weeks of the season and the only games they seem to win is with Tyler pitching. They have been doing some uncharacteristic things for a Covington team. The boys know how to play but I do not think that Geno is doing much coaching. It looks like if it is close or they are down by 4 or 5 runs Geno does not say anything to them.

Covington has had a fine season, and it's hard to argue a 31-6 record. Geno is a fine coach, and I don't question the decisions Geno and his staff makes as he is very thorough in his scouting reports. The boys will be fine, and I expect Covington to win tomorrow versus Mitchell as well as have continued success in the Spring Fling!

Again, I am sure there is a reason such a shift was on, and I fall back on his scouting report and the confidence in his pitcher to locate.

All teams hit a bump in the road, and that bump may not come at the time we would prefer, but the bottom line is Covington is still playing while other teams are not. This opportunity is possible because of both the players and their coaches. They work hand in hand, and this group should not question Geno's decisions because whatever decisions he makes have been well thought and are in the best interest of the team. Does it guarantee succcess? Not every time. But 31/37 times ain't bad!

As someone from Ripley I think that I have to take up for Covington's coach this time.He has done his homework and he knows his game so in the situation he was in and with Conrad batting, anyone that keeps up with Ripley baseball, they know that he is totally a pull hitter. Conrad has hit the ball that way a total of three times to leftfield this year so he just hurt covington in a situation to win it. It's not a bad coaching job
