Top of 6 with one out, McMinn 3, RHS 6

Word from a very biased RHS fan: the umpire wasn't calling curveball/offspeed pitches early in game which goes against Underland's game plan and McMinn got 3. Choates is pitching now and McMinn has a new pitcher too.

Hopefully, Warriors can hang on.

Things were looking great early for the Cherokees, but after a two-run homerun given off by McMinn's Adam Ray, things went downhill. Thats McMinn County baseball for ya though...one bad thing happens and its a runaway afterwards. I wish Riverdale the best of luck. I think they have some great sticks, but were lacking in pitching from what I saw. They will do just fine in Memphis. Congrats to McMinn County on a successful year- enjoy graduation tomorrow seniors!

Couldn't make it to the game but many thanks to the posters on this board for providing game info. Pitchers have to make adjustments to the plate umpires if the umpires are consistent. Riverdale has some depth in pitching and should do well at the state. Congratulations to to McMinn county for a great season.

Go Warriors? Have a safe trip home tonight!

    • They've had some great talent over the years. They usually don't whip no one but can be tough to stop on offence.
    • Could be a lot of reason from what I’ve seen so far.  The lights wouldn’t turn on at Smyrna last night and had to move games to Blackman could be a reason or maybe he is talking about how on some of the games on NFHS network the camera placement was absolutely asinine. ( had a camera set up right in front of a net and couldn’t see crap)
    • If Gordonsville can manage getting through these next 2 games without using him it will be ideal. ER was the last team to not have to pitch their #1 till the state championship i believe. Worked out well for them but they also had one of the best 1A staffs of all time that year. Only allowed one run the whole tournament and it was in the 7th inning.
    • And he’s not even their #1. Lights out performance. Gordonsville is in the drivers seat with their #1 arm available throughout the tournament.
    • Close, after watching today I will take Alcoa and Meigs in the winers bracket games.
