William Blount @ Rhea County scrimmage

I saw the Rhea Co. / William Blount scrimmage this evening. They played a four quater scrimmage complete with refs and all special teams. Rhea County came out on top 33-27.

 

Rhea's offense looked sharp most of the scrimmage but the William Blount running game had the defense back on its heels at times. Rhea is changing to a 4-3 this year and the defense will get better as fall practice continues.

 

William Blount looked solid at times on offense especially the running game (scored on a long run on the first play from scrimmage). The WB defense had a hard time the whole night. They couldn't cover the Rhea recivers and couldn't stop the run when it was important. WB has a good stable of running backs.

 

To many missed tackles on both teams and Rhea had some dropped passes at crucial times. Lots of mistakes, but thats to be expected in an early fall scrimmage.

 

Lots of room to improve...... that's why they scrimmage. thumb thumb

Congrats to the Golden Eagles and good to see William Blount isnt all that good (Bradley has to play them this year) .

Yes Rhea Co. looked 10 times better against WB then Knox Central. Hammontree fixed or improved alot of stuff since thursday. Next scrimmage Wed. @ McCallie 9:00 am. They really need to work on containing outside run on D.
