the owls couldnt beat mcminn county by 60, what makes you think they can beat central by that much.  if it wasnt for all of centrals turnovers, they would have beat mcminn by 20. i have seen the owls in action and they do not impress me at all.

I would have to say the biggest point you have is that Ooltewah has not played up to all the hype yet. I've watched them play a couple of times, they have put up big numbers on the ground once and big numbers in the air another. This team has a lot of balance and Central is awful young.

If memory serves me correctly McMinn is the only regular season comparison we really have. Central squeaked by McMinn and Ooltewah blew them out of the water and didn't even put their best foot forward. Watch out if this Owls team clicks on all cylinders; it is probably the best team (still trying to look at McCallie a little closer) in SE TN. They can run, they can pass, and they can beat you with big plays. They have a better kicking game than I was expecting, too. This team has all the tools. Central will probably have a tough time staying on the field with them this year.

One other comparison I forgot about... Red Bank 41-0 over Central and Ooltewah beat Red Bank in a scrimmage 35-0 from what I heard. Like I said earlier, this is likely not to be a good game to go watch.

For Central to win this one, everything has to go right for them and everything has to go wrong for Ooltewah. I just don't see it happening.

I'd have to agree, I don't think we've seen the best from this Owls team yet. The way they've played the first few games hasn't been spectacular, and if they had put that kind of performance against Oak Ridge DB, the Owls probably wouldn't have won.

That said, I think Monroe's still getting readjusted to coaching, and the players are still getting readjusted to Monroe. We've seen the running, the passing, the rush defense, and the passing defense are all strong, they just need to put it all together. If they get everything running well, there's not a team in the area that could compete with them and other state powerhouses better look out.

That said, neither the coaches nor the players will care about running the score up on their old cross-town rivals. A huge blowout would not surprise me.

I think the real action will be on the sidelines, lets hope the student groups keep it loud, clean, and (semi)friendly.

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
