How are they better? I keep reading that but I also keep reading the scores in the paper on Saturday mornings? I am serious, how are they better?

Which team are you talking about Karns, Clinton or who?

I think Karns was improved as far as they were much more fundamentally sound. I think when Halls adjusted their defense and started taking the lead, Karns started getting that look of "here we go again".

If you are talking about Clinton, I don't know. Maybe they are playing hard but in a new system and just not playing together yet.

The Red Devils are going to roll. Look for the 2's and 3's early in this one.

Halls 38

Clinton 13

Wonder why some other teams dont go to thier bench as quickly as Halls. Maybe Coach Jullian has confidence in his whole team.

Great point. He knows to develop a winning program you cann't just be a one year wonder. Look at MARYVILLE & CENTRAL they just reload each year.

You are right about Coach Julian getting playing time for the young guys. Halls is a very young team. Not just related to seniors but there have been so many players playing both ways in the past that has needs to get some experience for those up and comers.

Unless you were at the game against Karns, you would not realize just how far down the depth chart Halls went. It was hard to watch as Halls gave up points and couldn't run a play on offense but you know they learned something and it will reap benefits later.

Fairplay, Instead of mass substitutions at one time give the backup quarterback some time with the 1st team offensive line. If Lucas gets banged up a little, a play or two here and there against a team we are dominating could reap dividends going into the remaining games and post season.

Did Halls go to #3 QB down next to our own endzone. I couldn't see the number. He couldn't get a snap. End up fumbling to give Karns a touchdown. That may have been to much to soon for young QB.

I agree about letting him see some time with first team line. I hope he is getting some reps in practice.

fairplay that was halls's number 2 qb, Gary Cooper that fumbled and yes he did struggle a lil bit but he is young! As to booby booshay yes i did play some football in high school, and i do know my stuff and excuse me for the spelling but as for you quit dreaming and come back to earth and quit taking up for someone who has curly hair and cant call a football game ( Tony B ) and just worry about yourself.Just post your score on here and comment and bad mouth halls, if they lose to anyone for the rest of the year like everyone else does. Your prob some dad and ur just upset cause ur son doesn't play and rides the bench and can't live your dream cause u were in the band! As for the game Halls wins huge

Congrats to the Halls Red Devils football team, coaches, fans for getting back into the state rankings at #9. Long deserved and well earned. Much continued success for the remainder of the season.

Bet my next batch of hominy grits they won't lose again this year except MAYBE to Maryville.

BigCJones40, now don't get your temper up. Ole Booby is just having some fun. If you look at some of his past post's you will see he is a Red Devils fans or so it seems. Maybe he has a thing for Tony B, you never know. I can't see Clinton scoring any points vs. Halls, and 48 on offense might just be a generous estimate.

Anyway, good luck to Coach Julian and his staff and players in their return to the glory days.

    • I agree with the Farragut and Bradley claim. Those will both be wins. Bearden like you say is depending on when you get them in comparison to when the wheels fall off.  As far as West goes I’m 50-50. They have been able to reload so far so until they show me they haven’t I can’t count them out.
    • during the 2nd round of the playoffs last year against Milan, Gray partially tore his meniscus. He had a minor repair around Thanksgiving. Recovery time was minimal and he has been full force for baseball this season.
    • What do ya’ll think the O/U will be? I would set the line at 2.5
    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
