Personally, the cut block is not dangerous if you use correctly. I have used it against a 350 pound noseguard. Once you have contact, STOP. Don't continue pushing, because that could cause an undo amount of pressure on his lower legs. All it needs to be used for is keeping him from making the tackle, not injury. Anyone who cut/chop blocks outside of the tackle box in high school shouldn't be on the field. They should be on the debate team because they have no balls.
