I'm tierd of people like BigCJones hating on carter. Carter has a well balanced team. Their deffense is very talented. I think they will win this game big plus it is homecoming for the hornets. So BigC don't be mad that was the toughest region in the state hands down any team would struggle with teams like Maryville and Central. The hornets should not have even been there in the first place. They were the smallest 4a school and they still made it to the playoffs. They did okay for the teams that they played. Now they are playing against the teams that they should have been playing the past 4 years. So you might as wll jump on the bandwagon because these boys are for real!!!

oh yea

And as always this post is for YOU!

What an idiot! This guy dosent know what he is talking about. How could you wish on someone to lose. You BigCJones40 probably played benchwarmer and BACKUP waterboy LOL :D You were probably the kid that had to stand on the sidelines your senior year with pom poms :D. I think it will be a good game and thats why I started this thread, I didnt start it for some football reject to come on and diss any High School football team! So if you have something to say about some kids working hard keep it to your self. Noone wants to hear that garbage. Good luck to both teams. I look forward to seeing the highlights!

I've seen both teams play, and have no question that Carter will win. That said, Carter is the best team in the weakest region, pound-for-pound, in the state (and I mean all classes). Most of your better 1A and 2A teams would beat Union County, and would probably give Carter a good game.

Carter should be able to jump on Union Co, pretty quick. Union Co. played well last week but Carter has a better team overall. I haven't seen either team play a regular season game but Union Co. had some problems in the summer that are showing in their record this season.

BigCJones40, man get a life. This thread is about a game, not your personal dislikes. If you don't like Carter then you need to start your own thread about that. Who cares if they couldn't win in 4a ball, they are in 3a now.

how can you say Carter shouldnt have been playing in 4a ? they had the students u must adapt to ur surroundings period sorry u all couldnt play with the big boys and now u all are playing teams that couldnt beat anyones jv squads and have a nice day

No one from Carter complained about being in 3-4A we played the games and gave it all we had. As I recall when we were in 2-3A before we came to 3-4A didn't we make the playoffs in 1999 and 2000? Then in 4A in 2002?

Didn't make it in 03 or 04, but were a win away each year.

The past is the past and the Hornets are 6-0 so stop trying to justify Carter beating a team that you used to play for by saying that they were no any good in 4a. It is done with. I will be at the game and I hope that Union gives the Carter boys a good game. From what I see Union beat Pegion Forge. I was not at this game but this must mean that they have the potential to win a big game. Good luck to both teams.

And BIGC this post is for you!!

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
