yeah so it just came to my attention that TSSAA only allows girls to be punters in football...crap...and i can't kick to save my life...and yes i am am MTSU fan...lol...oh well there goes that dream

You can still go tackle that tree!

If you are really that willing to give up on your dream, either:

a) It wasn't much of a dream at all

or

 You weren't dedicated enough to play football to begin with.

what position did she play? i mean i know it will be togh being a girl on a football team but i want to prove people wrong and i can take gettin tackled i get body slammed in soccer all the time and i know its totally different but i want to prove a point cuz girls can be just as good as guys maybe better at somethings..not bein sexist...but ya know...girls have the right to play anything...and the reason guys cant play volleyball or softball is because its a girls sport...its specifically called girls softball and girls softball...

Football is a game of heart, desire, integrity, determination. If you freely admit you just want to prove a point, keep yourself away from the field. I am a woman, and grew up on football. To this day I'm more passionate about football than the majority of things in my life, I can't imagine how it must feel to pad up, and play on friday..... BUT, I would never encourage a girl to play. Please ladies I beg of you, as a female (who loves football) leave the game to the guys. I am not at all a feminist so I'm not afraid to say it does women no justice to try and prove we are the same as men. We are not. Not better, not worse, but we are most certainly not the same. Women are not designed for football. Go buy a set of golf clubs or a tennis racket, maybe a glove and bat, but still don't expect to be better than the boys at it. Men are just physically stronger than woman, ( I know that in some instances you may have a really stout girl who is stronger than a really weak guy but that is a rarity, if you take the best male and female in the same sport, the guy is gonna win 9 times out of 10, if not 10 of 10. ex Tiger vs Annika) Why try to challenge the system to prove a point. In all honesty I don't believe the question was posed as a serious thought in the first place. Learn to appreciate football first, then you would know better than to want to play it as a female.

I would say that if you are truly in to playing football you can try it. I wanted to in high school but the practices looked brutal even for a guy. There is a professional women footbal league that you can try out for when you are 18. I was looking in to it but i can't leave college for it. That would be your best shot. Tennessee has a couple of teams in the league. Good luck with whatever you decide.

My english teacher plays in one such league, as QB.

Anyways, like I said before. It was be really awkward. I would feel sorta strange blocking a girl. And after I pancaked her I would feel bad. B)

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
