peterw
Inside Scoop: TSSAA is actually eying the soccer complex in Smyrna for state next year for girls soccer. So they won't be in the boro, but close by. All of Spring Fling will relocate from Memphis to the Murfreesboro area; track, baseball, boys soccer, you name it. CaraByrd
Why Smyra? We just got a whole new complex, Richard Siegel Park, and it is much better.

imthathard
see i dont like that they are moving these things to the "boro" because on our day off durin the tournament...before the championship game...we like to go out and do stuff and the "boro" doesnt have too many options so... that stinks... mtnman
I have said this once and I will keep saying it. A soccer "park" is not a good place for the state championship. This is not a weekend youth tournament. It is the state championship. It needs to be played at venues not a park. I have never liked Mike Rose because of that. The stadium field is awesome but having parents and fans stand on the sidelines between two different fields is not my idea of a kids high school state championship tournament. Agreed agreed agreed and AGREED! I have said that all three years in Memphis. You feel like you are at a weekend club tournament. You also could never watch the other teams play, since they all play at once. Except for the 6 teams that got to play in the stadium, the rest got to play on sub par fields back to back to back of each other.
ignatius1313
spoke with a rep from TSSAA yesterday about it - no definitive plans to MOVE, but the contract is up, and the tournament is up for bid. the boy's are definitely in murfreesboro.
