Might as well get this thread started. How does everyone, especially region 1 fans, see this game developing?

Some quik facts

1. next week's game at Morristown will be a rematch of the 2001 first round...West won that game 48-6

2. 2001 was the last time Johnson County was in the playoffs

3. historically, Johnson Co. has a 1-7 record in the playoffs (the only win coming in '88 against Webb) scoring a combined 39 points while allowing 200

4. in 2005, the Longhorns averaged just under 16 points/game while allowing just over 17.

5. in 2005, West averaged over 36 points/game while allowing just under 13

6. Johnson Co. lost rather badly to South in September but played Tennessee very well 2 weeks ago in the castle

7. West was tested by both Knox West and East in Sept. but the defense allowed only 27 points in October

I see West winning this one. I'm not sure how it will unfold because I haven't seen Mo' West this year.

1. Always good to face Mo'West in the playoffs.

6. The Tennessee High game was played on two days. The difference in the first half(Friday) and the second half (Sat.) were almost night and day. The rain and lightning ruined the rythem.

7. They were tested by West, I'm not so sure about East though. It was a rivalry so the Hurricanes probably played better than usual.

Johnson Co. is a hard hitting team, but West will most likely win this by 3 touchdowns or so. It might be hard for the Longhorns to make a comeback due to them running the ball most of the time.

West plays simple football.

Stop the run, run the ball.

Ewing is one of the best backs - despite all the press for Brandon Gash @ Greeneville and Hicks @ Boone - in East Tennessee. He has over 1,300 yards and missed two games, and only played around a quarter last night.

Then they have two fullbacks Jawann McCullough and Wesley Hale who are also tough to bring down.

It isn't like West can't throw the ball either - they have a serviceable passing game when they have to go there, which isnt often.

Defensively, good luck getting anything going against West.

Their front four is big and quick. They get east and west on the field as quick as they do north and south, so its hard to try and bounce the run outside. The DL is just mammoth and almost impossible to get anything going.

LBs are very good and big as well. They plug the holes well in defending the run, and are able to drop back and defend the pass too.

Region 1 teams running into West will have a lot of problems.

East did test West that night as a lot of the overflow crowd that watched them would have to testify to. The 'Canes played very tough and, to this point at least, remain the only team to hold West under 30 points.

Roll Trojans! and best of luck to the 'Canes up in Colonial Heights next week!

Morristown West has really come together this year - the players are playing for the team, not themselves. It's been a lot of fun to watch this year. Preparations have started for the post-season and no opponent will be taken lightly. Like the season, I suspect the philosophy will be "one game at a time" and it has bode well for the Trojans. Congratulations to Don Woods and the rest of the coaching staff at Morristown West.

TROJAN NATION!!
