Mustangs start quick tonight with 28 first quarter points and defeat Chester County 48-12. Matt Elrod had 190 yards and sophomore Jeremy Holt ran for 138. Ford Hillin caught two passes for 2 TDs. Braden Binkley led the defense once again. Lipscomb had 494 total yards on offense while holding the Eagles to 205.

 

Looking at scores around the state, the Mustangs are happy to get the win as a #1 seed. Other #1's did not fair as well in Carter, Dyersburg, and Trezevant.

 

Cheatham County makes a return visit to Lipscomb in Round 2 and it will be a great ballgame. If you are not going to see you local school next week, come on out to Lipscomb for a super battle between two Region 5-3A teams.

 

Congrats to Chester County for continuing to fight all night long. Congrats to the Mustangs for a team win!! GO DL!!

Can't wait to come back to David Lipscomb next Friday night. The Cubs vs the Mustangs with a trip to the quarterfinals at stake. Now that's worth the price of admission folks.

what was that supposed to mean? we need to pay for what? upsetting everyone at state? playing harder than everyone there- hustling more?

 

as for the football game, DL looked really good. look for them to go on and play a few more weeks. chester county played hard till the end and never stopped giving it there all.
