I am real excited about the freshman team this year at Central. the starting five are as follows for the freshman team at Central

1 kylie Lambert

2 Chelsea Simbeck

3 J Davis

4 Gabby Jordon

5 Elizabeth Elder.

This group of girls will be very fun to watch for the next 4 years. I really think that they will win the freshman tourn this year in their Div. Remember all these girls and watch them closely. Baring injuries I think some of these girls will go to some great colleges.

None. They are enrolled at Central. Nobody is "supposed" to go to a certain school. Maybe you meant where are they "zoned" to go to school? TSSAA permits open enrollment. So any student can enroll at any school as a rising freshman. Seems like there was a young lady that played at Sweetwater for 2-3 years and then transferred to McMinn for her senior year. This occurred about 3 years ago. Where was she "zoned" to go to school????? Glass houses.........

QUOTE(AA rules @ Nov 7 2005 - 09:13 AM)

Riceville...............

Kolea Latham wasn't zoned for Riceville. She attended Athens Junior High, went to Sweetwater, then mysteriously re-appeared in Athens before her senior year. The coach @ McMinn prior to this one was maybe guilty of something he always blamed Central for doing........

I think AA Rules was using sarcasm there sir hopalot!

I can tell you two more McMinn County Girls that didn't go the McMinn County High.

One is Kerri Simpson, she is at Cleveland and one of the best players there. the other is Biddle. Her father is a lawyer in Athens and has to pass McMinn COUnty to go to Walker Valley. Said when you see such great talent not staying in the County and going where the coaching is.

Sounds like something at McMinn ain't working right....when all their talent goes elsewhere.....Is it true that the McMinn school system has stopped a certain Walker Valley coach from using Calhoun's gym ??.......that ain't gonna help the talent staying either...

You meant Buckley instead of Biddle passing up McMinn going all the way to

Walker Valley. There are also 5 boys on W.Valley varsity that live in McMinn County. Beside the Simpson girl, another Calhoun girl is playing on Cleveland's team, Michelle Davis. Tiffany Buckalew was also a Calhoun girl that landed at Cleveland and then Bradley while Housley went to Central. A couple other Central players could easily have landed at McMinn but travel to Central.

Coach Morgan is doing a good job with the freshmen, but using them wisely will bring them in as they earn the time and prove they can compete against varsity players. Kiley is there. Simbeck, Jordan, and J. Davis are earning good sub time and working their way up.

AA rules your comment about Calhoun gym is interesting. Where is your info coming from? I am trying to figure who you are.

    • That was after the 2nd year of a 4 year cycle.  Since Covid we have been on a 2 year cycle.  So, there really isn't a "mid cycle" reclassification this time.   Idk if there's anything in place to address the issue of a school closing.  My guess is, nothing can be done.  This would be akin to the 1st year of a 4 year cycle, where a school has the 20% +/- but not allowed or even have the option to move up or down.
    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin
    • Yes Justin Cruse was named head coach
    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
