It's been a while since my last rankings. Here's a look at the Gomab 2006-2008 Fall Rankings. Top 55 for '06, Top 50 for '07, and Top 40 for '08. Full rankings will be available via subscription by December... These rankings may only be posted on here until January 1, so enjoy. There are some nice surprises in the updated rankings, so, let the discussions begin...

Wow, you have really mixed it up. I have seen a lot of players around the state and you do a good job of putting this together. It is impossible to agree on a consensus, but you have put together a pretty good list. Good work.

My comments, for what it is worth..................

2006

* Agree with Wright over Young.

* Brandon Powell seems a little high. I think the FL signing skews him up a bit. I don't think FL got a good deal there.

* Keith Ramsey, if he becomes eligible and plays in college - which he will eventually, will most likely be 2nd or 3rd in this class as far as productivity in college and I think he should be #4-5 on the list right now.

* Josh Bone is better than Stewart.

* Oden may not be the best shooter, but he is a great playmaker - maybe better than 21.

* Hunter from LaVergne might be better than you think.

* Micah Williams is butter

* I'd like to see Channels move up

2007

* I like Wattad over Long

* Strong is way too high on your list

* Kevin Smith is all potential - not quite there yet, and should not be in the top 15 - however, will be great!

* Allen/Oakland - one of the best prospects in the state - regardless of class - Way too low - should be top 10. Much more polished than Kevin Smith.

* Brian Wright may be a bit low - top 20 player

* Wade from Oakland is not in your top 50 and belongs

* Smgielski (Sp?) from laVergne should also be top 50

2008

* Carter McMasters must be good - we hear a lot about him - but have not seen him play

* Caldwell is starting to get passed up by some more players - more than just McMasters

* DeMario Williams is starting to level off too - but is big time

* McAdoo will keep getting better

* Ware is better than #10

* Marcus Jefferson is solid - good pick there

* Rayshawn Walker needs to grow or learn to dribble - great athlete. When he does either, he will then deserve this ranking.

* Henley dropped way too much. Yes, he is small for his position, but he can flat out play. If you are picking teams, you want this guy on your side.

* Cutter - major improvement. He will continue to rise - had 19 last night against Beech and from what I have heard - a complete player - also seems taller than 5'9"

* Weitzel - His stock will continue to rise. Starting to mature and develop into solid post player - needs to lift weights.

* Buggs - quick as lightning - needs to move up to

* What happened to Gaskins - didn't see him in first game box score?

* Where did Upton go? He has to be top 50, doesn't he?

* Blonde shaggy haired kid from Harpeth - is he on this list? Don't know his name, but he is a player.

McMasters at No. 1? I don't know a whole lot about that class but they must be pretty weak if he's number one. I'm not sure if he is quite 6'10 but he is SO skinny and he had no post game. All he did was spot up for threes. He was not real athletic either. Also I think Chris Goodwin is way too high, he's is a good spot up shooter, but that is it.

Good job. Your knowledge about all these players is impressive, as always. I'm most familiar with the DII guys. Maurian Price of Harding really impressed me last year as maybe the 2nd or 3rd best player in DII. Don't know most of the others ahead of him, but I'd like to have him on my team! Also, I'll bet dollars to donuts that Brandon Brown is a top 5 player by next year if he keeps improving at the same rate. Thanks.

Your thinking of Kevin Giltner he is a very good athlete.(Long shaggy hair) Even though he shaved it all off before the season started with the rest of the starting 5 players. Edited by HHSnumber1fan

Carter is now a legitimate 6'10 without shoes. yes he does need to put weight on but remember he is 15. He doesnt turn 16 till the summer (he is a very young sophmore). You will very rarely find a kid Carters size that is as skilled as he is.

Ramsey will most likely be 2nd or 3rd in this class? have you lost your dang mind? sorry to ruin your fantasy but he will NEVER be better than Young, Wright, Kemp, Chism, and Vanardo. and more than likely he'll never be on the same level as Niles and Powell either.

I respect your opinion. After watching him play in AAU, I'm not sure Brandon Wright was more valuable to that team than Ramsey. At times, Ramsey looks like the better player. Not saying he is a better prospect than UNC bound Wright or even a better player, but he has more versatility. Also, when it comes to hustle, I'll take Ramsey. We will have to wait and see, but I really think Ramsey is better than you think.
