legman
cbg, I've known Matt most of his life and if there's one thing he won't do, it's run from this challenge. No, the way he'll try to AA is to keep working hard with his coaches, keep his ears open for their advice and bang heads with guys like Coach Henson every day. Besides, UTC already has their share of Bradley's favorite sons at 125 with Hank Rains and Shawn Cordell. March is a long way off,....don't write him off so soon. Sommers
Is Keller at his right weight for optimum performance? CMU is pretty stacked too in the lower weights, i.e., 125 with 1. Joe Dubuque-Sr, Indiana 2. Kyle Ott-Sr, Illinois 3. Sam Hazewinkel-Jr, Oklahoma 4. Nick Simmons-Jr, Michigan State 5. Coleman Scott-Soph, Oklahoma State 6. John Velez-Sr, Northwestern 7. Robbie Preston-Jr, Harvard 8. Joe Kemmerer-Soph, UNC-Greensboro 9. Jeremy Mendoza-Sr, Arizona State 10. Luke Smith-Soph, Central Michigan then... Matt Steintrager (CMU) dec. Adam Rains (UTC), 5-2 How would Keller match up here? Legman Legman, Not saying that Matt is a bad wrestler or that he will not AA @ 133 but would he have a better opportunity at 125? Heck he would be so large at 125 he could possibly even make the finals with a little luck.
Hamm
UTC is definitely addressing their upperweight situation! http://s7.invisionfree.com/The_Guillotine_...?showtopic=4069 in addition to this, I just recieved word that one of Tennessee's native sons who was very exciting to watch last year is transferring to UTC also from the school he is currently wrestling for and is projected as a 174/184!! Stay tuned!
legman
cbg, After watching Matt miss AA by one match in '04 at 133, I saw him wrestle at 125 last season after making the extremely tough cut. He wasn't the same wrestler. He battled his weight so hard every day that he seemed physically and mentally drained when he actually competed. I'm pretty familiar with weight cutting and the sacrifice that these college guys make, but this was too much in my opinion. I definitely think that 133 is the right place for him. Legman Then 133 is where he belongs. Top four or five looks obtainable for him this year
