I am sure it will be a great Tournament that all the teams will enjoy. Siegel has one of the best facilities in the State and I will be serving up the delicious food at the concession stand. PH, are you going to the Willis Valley Shoot Out this week in Ft Payne?

Pres - please be sure to wear hair net when serving up the chow. I hear Wills Valley has some great accomodations, can't wait to get to the mountains.

Which sessions I might attend has not been decided yet. I would like to see every one but there are other considerations or time constraints.

Siegel High School is in their third year of existance and is the home of the GREAT SIEGEL NATION. The girls basketball team is Coached by Head Coach Alan Bush, Assistant Coach Hillary Maxwell and Assistant Coach Jay Seals. To start a program and in three years have this program where it is speaks very loudly about the skills of these coaches.

The team is led by 5'9" TK Jones, a senior, who is a prospect for college/university play next year and the leader in scoring so far this year. This is her third year of starting for the STARS.

The post position is secured by three very good athletes, junior's 5'11" Carrie Parott, 6'0" Danielle Spurlock and sophmore 6'2" Claire Waggoner. Parott and Spurlock certainly have the skills to play at a higher level after next year.

Kirsten Sigenthauler, a 5'9" junior, plays inside/outside and is just coming back off of an injury this summer. She is working herself back on the court.

Three sophmores, who are now playing their second year, have certainly made their mark in athleticism for the Stars. Allison Wright 5'7", who is also a cross country runner,5'9" Anna Grace Gerhart, who is also a soccer player and 5'8" Morgan Faulkner, who is also a volleyball player make up a very strong sophmore class that were inserted in to the lineup their first year at the school and seem very experienced in their play. They are definitely basketball players.

Freshman Amy Burns rounds out the squad and is playing her way in as a guard.

This team has played a brutal schedule but was in every game and could be 9-0 with a little luck. They are currently 6-3, losing to some of the states top teams. They are 3-0 in the very tough 7AAA district. This is the third year for this tournament. Siegel puts on a great tournament and you will be able to tell that if you are a player or just a spectator.

Boy have I butchered one of the players names. Kristen Seigenthaler is one of the most passionate players of basketball one might ever see. She eats, sleeps, and plays basketball and it runs in the family since her mother keeps score and her dad is a coach. How could she get away from it? How could they get away from her passion for the game? This past summer Kristen got a knee injury and it got in her way of participating until about 4 weeks ago. She , at times, went thru the frustration of not playing the way she wanted and the feelings of injuries like that of your mind thinking your body can do things that the body can't took aver for a while but really that could be expected. Then not only did she have to recover from the knee but recovery of hamstring surgery prolonged the time off the court. Players think they can get back on the floor many times too soon. Kristen is now at least 85% and she thinks 100%. She may be. She is to the point that she is helping the team. Sorry for the mis-spelling of the name and wish a good remainder of the season to Kristen.

Good post on Kristen, but her dad is not a coach. Could you be referring to her uncle who is a high school coach? She does love the game and hope she continues to do well.

    • Im asking everyone to keep roy whited and his family in your prayers. Coach whited won back to back state championships at white county in 98-99. He is very well liked and respected in this area. For those of you that dont know he went missing 3 days ago. No one knows where he is. His truck was found in a rural part of the county. Thanks again. We are all very concerned.
    • West would be a good team to get behind if they can pull it off again like last year. That championship game last year was awesome.
    • I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.
    • I’ve heard mostly good things from the gridiron. Lots of optimism. It sounds like the portal has mostly helped, though there are a few expected defections. Comeback year!
    • Rudesell 1 year at Crockett. Coach Tate 2 weeks a Bradford. South Gibson supposedly going with jcs middle school coach. Which isn’t who I thought would get it, I know the top 2 was between him and Obion girls head coach.
