Collins Hill and Baylor put on a show tonight that if not for an early departure to ga tommorrow might last into the wee hours.. I know all the results ,but I type so slow that it would be next tues before I could post them. Baylor 26 Collin Hills 25

Baylor down 12 points with Mr Manson Huessain and Doster left. Mr Manson and Thomas Knapp, The two best wrestlers that will step into the areana this year

Mr Manson takes him down with .00000005 seconds left to win 4-3. A great call by referee Mara. Huessain manhadles his opponent to cut CH lead to 5. Doster in a battle , I didn't think you would pin him Reed, catches him in a scramble on his back and gets the pin . Nice job ,both teams.

My wrestler of the match goes to ...... Never being the one to pick the obvious, my choice is Colton Popp. Now I can hear Frank and his lovely Notre Dame alumnus wife Beverly saying to each other , "looks like Bear Cat and Coach J stayed at happy hour a little to long. I know Colton lost but he only gave up three team poionts to an amazing 9th grader Tyler Knapp. THis kid has more national hardware than both teams combine. So good job Mr Popp

Thank you Coach J for providing the Pregame meal I know Harry wanted to be there, but had a butt kissing party at work

In case a few people forget , and I noticed that some people in the crowd had, Kenny Mara is the best Referee in the state of Tenn, and probably doesn't really need your help.

Numerous NCAA finals says enough

Thanks Charley Johnson for sharing your popcorn

Congrats to Baylor...boy that was a tough one. I'm glad we were able to keep it close. And to the little Raiders.....they really put a whipping on our little guys.

Good luck against Parkview tomorrow.

What a great high school wrestling match. Those are the ones you remember and talk about forever.

Collins Hill is a well coached team. They don't seem to have a hole in the line up. Also, I noticed that they were graciously shaking hands and congratulating Baylor the second the match ended. They are a class group. Good luck for the rest of the weekend.

Oh, how about that Reed Doster!

I looked forward to this match for a year and was not dissapointed. Several matches were not decided with 5 sec left. Collins Hill was a great opponent. They showed a lot of class last year when they won and this year as well. I'm already looking forward to doing it again next year.

It appears that Tom and Colton are indeed related. Did a google with both "Tom" and "Colton" and got the above link. Somewhat surprised that Tom did not send Colton to McCallie to wrestle for Gordon Connell, Tom's coach at Hixson High School.

Colton is Tom's son. Interesting choice in school, and coach.

Not joking. Look at 119 for example. Lists Popp as being from Collins Hill.

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
    • I heard Alabama was at Antioch practice and Colorado has offered QB. Hoping the Bears have a great year.
