Hard to throw it to a player that is not in the game.

 

 

ok if you were there....which i dont know if you were or not...then you would know that dowdell played quite a bit for being in foul trouble early....especially in the 2nd half....even still....he didnt get the ball when he was in the game and down the stretch he could have won them the ball game hands down b/c we have no one to guard him....

By the way, dewayne, having played college ball myself, I can tell you that Cameron will, in fact, probably play D1 ball. Remember that he is still just a junior and has a bit of growing left to do. If Cam continues to increase his physical strength and outside game, there is no reason why he cannot play at least at the Mid-Major level. He's already better in my opinion than the point guard from Bearden a couple of years ago that is playing D1 ball at Alabama A & M.

I don't agree. The only time I've seen Sharp this year was at the Central game and he was a non factor until free throw shooting time at the end of the game and he DID knock down those free throws. He lost his composure a couple of times when coach set him down and by my count he had 3 shots blocked and made two baskets. I believe I would take Alex Oliver over Sharp. I just don't think he has the body for D1.

 

But then again, I was the one who said Dane Bradshaw would never play meaningful minutes at Tenn.

Moc, If I remember right, didn't you sit the bench at Powell? I watched Powell play some back then and never saw you even get in the game. I remember the Powell post guy playing at UTC... but lets be real, being on the team as a walk on is not "playing college ball". You have some good ideas but to watching from the pine doesn't qualify on as an expert.

the bottom line is that if oak ridge gets the ball to dowdell they probably win the game. i agree the only times ive seen domsic play this year he has ball hogged. he needs to realize that dowdell is oak ridges best player and the ball needs to go through him. bottom line. i agree that when stephens gets back that oak ridge will be a whole lot better team. but what is the deal at oak ridge with players being suspended. every year for about the last 5 they have had kids that are not playing because of grades that would be a big time help. but back to sharp he is a d-1 mid major player. i mean no one gives the kid credit that he deserves. he kept halls in the game in the first half and in the second he did everything he had to do to win. the only thing i see wrong with cams game is sometimes he is to unselfish.

Of course, growing four inches and gaining thirty pounds after my Senior year helped me realize my dream of playing D1 ball, even if it was as a walk on. A thirty-four inch vertical leap helped as well. The fact is, in the course of my life I have played basketball with some of the best players in the world, including Kevin Garnett and Alan Houston, among others who have gone on to play professionally. I received a substantial amount scholarship money at UTC for academics, so being on "scholarship" was never an issue for me. I lettered three years out of four and I became as good a player as I could be. I don't feel as though I have anything to prove to anyone as far as whether I could play or not. Ask my teammates. The fact that you would try to call me out here on a message board means that you are probably chicken crap and I will probably never get to meet you face to face. You are probably someone who never quite reached their potential and takes joy in trying to bring others down. I think that is pathetic, but I understand it. I also understand what a D1 player looks like whether you like it or not.

 

Now, in referring to Sharp, I've stated my opinion. Time will bear witness to whether I am correct or not. When he signs that letter of intent, I won't even get on here and say I told you so.

mocs30 i agree with you, ive known cam since i was about 4 and he is a for sure d 1, i play with the kid a lot, he can ball hands down, im no basketball player by any means but all it takes is a set of eyes to see talent...u know what ur talkin about....and im glad somebody does
