Baylor 1st. Soddy 2nd.

Don't know all the champs... but for Soddy I know 103- Dustin Stewart. 140- Ulric Winesburgh. 145- Jarriett Toney. and 171- Tyler Roberson.

Baylor's were Ben Johnson, Corey Manson, Daniel Waddell, and Derek Walker.

OW for lower weight- Ulric Winesburgh... and I'm pretty sure Derek Walker for upper weight.

If I'm wrong here... someone correct me.

Here's what you want Slim.

Reviez 215 beats SD

Vandergriff gets dominated by the Hills heavy.

Shane Reviez 3rd, the Baylor kid who beat him by 1 took 1st.

Spencer Grieco- 4th

Two FHS JVs take 3rd in the JV tourney. Will and the 189lb.

I think it went:

1. Baylor

2. Soddy D

3.

4.

5. Red Bank

6. Science Hill

7. Farragut

Great one day tourney, Easy to see the mats and the SD folks were really friendly and the prices were fair. Everytime I go to the Father Ryan Tourney my wallet feels raped. Would like to see a quick break for awards.

These are the placers as I can remember them. I think these are right. But I do not have 3,4 place finishers. Baylor won by 5 points Soddy had none that came through conso's and were missing a pretty good heavyweight. Soddy placed nine and they were all in the finals.

WOW! Winesburgh over Hussein, that is a big win for Winesburgh. Congrats!

Jed defeated him previously 10-4 & 14-2. Hussein was on the march again (4-0) when he lifted Ulric up in double-underhooks and got caught in a headlock which he fought for over a minute before the fall. Also, Winesburgh didn't have to even wrestle a semi-finals match b/c of injury default. Giving him the OW is just not right...

So that some folk's erroneous posts don't fester into fact...

TOP FIVE TEAMS

Baylor 215

Soddy Daisy 205.5

Science Hill 136

Greeneville 124

Red Bank 85.5

Bo Usary (130) and Ben Murray (275) won titles for the Toppers, Caleb Myers(112) for the Devils.

I was especially proud of Damien Buchanan for his hard fought 6-4 loss to Corey Manson.

Region One acquited themselves well I think.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
