scrimmages

This is why you have to love scrimmages...Rossview ties Hendersonville, a week or so later tie White House and then White House gets killed by Hendersonville.

Just another indication that noone other than the team's coaches should care about scrimmage scores.

Well put. The demise of the commandos has been greatly exagerated.

Science Hill V.S. Elizabethon (6:2)

Science Hill controlled the Whole game. Elizabethon had a better team than last year and Gave us some dangerous counter attacks. With about 5 shots on the goal in the first half and about 6 in the second they managed to put two in. Science hill subbed about 4 palyers at a time in a time period of 10-15 min in a two 40min halfs.

Thanks buddy. Do u guys play home? if yes i will try to come. It was not a special performance by me. I played Offencive Central Mid. and i have not played on that positon for a while so i Had a POOOOOR performance. But coach gave me another chance in the second half, and i did Just a Lil better and was lucky to score from close range. Matt R.( PK). Kenny Love, and Youg (korean) also put their name on the score list. GOOD LUCK with ur game, and wish us good luck tomorrow against Catholic.

Didn't Farragut play without that Baxstrom kid? And does anyone have any details about the game?

Yes, Farragut did lose to Catholic and yes we did play without Backstrom and yes, Coach still put many subs in and moved us all around.

Both Teams had opportunites and controlled parts of the game.

Coach told us not to worry, he never has worried about scrimmages( it's still hard not to) Unfortunately, like alot of other teams, due to injury, swimming and other things we haven't yet put our starting lineup on the field (Every team it seems to have been that way). So, our Coach said last night our season starts next Tuesday and all these scrimmages have meant is good warmups for all the teams....So Good Luck and remember it is the one who saves their best for last that wins the prize ...

No one likes to lose. Whether it is a scrimmage or in practice or playing connect 4. But it is what you learn from it that counts. Coaches use these scrimmages to find out what their players have. My starting line up is still up in the air, as I am sure most teams'. And honestly, Lion101, we have learned more from losing than we do "blowing a team away".

I would much rather get our weaknesses out in the open, the first month of season. If it were all about winning, then teams would only schedule weak opponents for scrimmages. That would be useless.

Never the less, it is still hard when you don't come home with a "w". We played an excellent West team last night, and had the same result that you did. But I tell you what, we know what we need to work on, before we play Bearden this Friday. And THAT is what these scrimmages are for.

Lion is absolutely correct that both teams had opportunities and controlled parts of the game. It was an enjoyable scrimmage to watch because both teams worked very hard and moved the ball around pretty well. It was obvious that a lot of the players play for the same club teams. The two sides knew each other very well. While Catholic's coming out ahead is nice (at least I think so), scrimmages are all about getting ready for the season. Other than that, they mean very little.

Farragut, as always, will have a fine year, especially after Coach C. sets his lineup for the regular season. I seem to remember a lot of people counting the Admirals out after the Irish beat them during the season last year, yet Farragut made it to the AAA State Tournament, just like always. Good players, good coaching. Nothing has changed.

Marques14, Ah20 and I had a talk, and we just wanted to make sure you spelled Ben Backstrom's name right. I heard he is constantly correcting people, because it is a hard name to spell. If you are who we think you are, I am sure that you would want it to be correct. :thumb: If not, disregard this message and I apologize.

    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
    • That's complete BS.  Nobody at ACHS has access to CHS student records unless a transfer is made from CHS to ACHS.
    • Trez's last scandal has died down, so I guess this is there opportunity to be the best 4A team playing in 2A a la Sissy MTN.  At least they won't be in a Z-district with 1a teams in the regular season.
