according to the radio i believe riverdale had a solid lead at one point in the game and was up at half by one...then they only made 15% of their shots in the 2nd half? is that right?

thats okay girls, just make sure you rebound, dont let it happen again please :o. no loss is good but this might help them refocus...it had been 15 games since their last loss.

After doing the same thing you did, listen to it, this game was very much like the game before. Riverdale got out ahead and it looked as if they would run away. Shelbyville came back and the game was one point at half with the Riverdale cast providing a lot of the support. The third quarter, the score went back and fourth but it was evident Shelbyville turned up the defense and because of a tremendous effort by Lanning, the inside game of Shelbyville was wearing Riverdale down. As the night before, Riverdale resorted to some fouling and the difference this time they did not score 18 out of 20 foul shots but were human and Riverdale tried to catch up but were not able to do it. Shelbyville is a physical team and it is not realized as much until the game is over. They are beatable but they have a very good game plan and it will take a very good team on top of their game to beat them. They used the same plan both nights and it worked. It seemed they wore Riverdale down.

It appears that both CC and Cleveland are very good teams and these will be very good games 7AAA is certainly pulling for Riverdale but CC is a very quick and very smart team that is well coached. Riverdale will have to be careful with their matchups, not particularly in size, but in speed and quickness. It will be a good game.

While I did not get all of the names, the Region all tournament team was dominated by 7AAA players. Molly, at White County, TK Jones at Siegel, Hudgins lanning and Bivins, Haynes of Riverdale, and Jerrall, Armstrong and two others I did not get from Shelbyville. These players deserved the asard for the way they played.

TK Jones has now officially closed out her high school career and to be able to highlight it the way she did in her final game is a tribute to ,not only her basketball skills but, to her perserverance and her determination and character to finish the course that she started. A lesser person after the first season, would have given up the task and wondered if it was worth the hard work, and long practices and the anguish of being on a team that won only six games. She gained some strength because she was a good player and believed in the team. She looked at the Siegel boys team and saw all of the skills they brought to the table and I am sure, wondered what happened to her team. The same thoughts, I am sure went thru her coaches for those first two years as they saw some improvement in their team but there was always TK, nonassuming, always trying and for sure, leading the team in a lot of areas. Being a team leader has not been an easy task for this young lady. At first she just wanted to play and not be concerned with anything except winning. Sometime this year, the light flickered on somewhat and with some patient proding by her coaches and some of her teammates she discovered the meaning of winning as a team and the little things players have to do to instill others to do well. When she had to step up, she did and did it well and she and the team did well. Her focus, and execution flowed over to her teammates who had skills she did not see her first two years. Sure they lost in the Regional Semifinals and some have a couple of years to go but 1000 point career, no telling how many rebounds has influenced her teammates but not as much as how she did it, with grace and pride. That's how high school girls basketball works, not with individual, unconnected players but with TEAMS that have the focus and the mission to start and finish the race. Those that don't finish have been let down by someone and remember it the rest of their life. Thanks TK. Hope you are playing next year.
