Megan Watson (bless her heart) is playing thru injurys, and had a superwoman performance in her last outing. If her team mates can step-up as a supporting crew, and she can play thru, then they can be the upset team.

Celina doesn't have a chance. RBS may win by 20 also. RBS 64 Celina 44 I hate to say it, but RBS will be plenty rested for the Regional Championship game. Especially if SCQ's boyfriend or his friends will be officiating at Watertown.

 

Celina matches up against RBS alot better than some think. It will not be an easy game and i promise that the crowd from Clay Co. WILL be up for this game! It will be a packed house and a great atmosphere for highschool sports. I'm smelling an upset of Sulpher City Queens team. The more i think about it the more this game isn't about the players on the floor as it is Clay County vs. RBS. Rich in tradition is this rivalry and it will have all the flavor of a "border war"!! What do you think Swanie??

Where is Watson going next year? Watched her play many years in AAU, and know she and her family have devoted alot of time to bb. Good Luck Megan and take care of the injuries!

OK, I realize this little trip down memory lane may be too long ago for some of the regulars on this board (as well as all the players and one of the coaches in question), but if RBS and Clay Co. meet tomorrow night, I'll be looking for a similar outcome to the 1989 regional semi-final between RBS and Celina High. RBS had won the district championship, and Celina was third. They both won their first round games in the region and met in the semis. I'm sure Larry White remembers that game well. No one except Celina fans and players gave CHS a chance that night, but the black and gold Lady Bulldogs pulled off the upset and advanced to the substate for the first of multiple times in the Sims era. Wouldn't it be appropriate for Coach Smith to gain her first substate game through an upset of RBS? I'm sure RBS would think not, but I'm hopeful!! Good luck CCHS, regardless of your opponent!

 

My aunt played on that RBS team, as a matter of fact, she was a Senior. I definitely remember the story behind that year. I'm sure I was there, but I didn't keep up with much of the basketball when I was that age, I was trying to watch the little cuties that were at the games!

 

I can't wait for the outcome of tonight's game...I want to be watching a game Saturday night!

Well RBS is going to have to play hard for the whole game...RBS is the more talented of the 2 teams, but RBS is going to have to play hard for the whole game...Last night against Watertown we play hard for the first qtr...They were up 21-2 and then after that they just went through the motions and didn't care...they play like that tonight they're going to get beat, but i'm sure they won't do that because they know what can happen...This is a game that is rich in tradition and should be a great one to watch...RBS wins one more they're in substate...
