PTSportsWriter
Ok - Anyone from Carter Co or Roan Mountain. Will Cloudland be able to host a sub-state game on Monday? Talk is that gym is small, smaller than Snavely at Unaka even. I know that the Cloudland girls played a sub-state game vs Oneida last year, was it played at Cloudland HS? If a team's good enough to win a region c'ship they ALWAYS host the sectional,I don't care if they play their home games in a telephone booth. They've earned that right! philip2003
And lost to Oliver Springs!!!!!!!!!!! Wartburg also beat them by like 16 when it really counted. Cloudland is playing really well right now, but remember their overall record is 9-12, and when Cloudland and Wartburg played in the summer Wartburg completely obliderated them, from what i hear. Cloudland lost 6 in a row and have now won 6 in a row. Their winning streak just like their losing streak will not carry past 6 games. Wartburg proved tonight that they are a real contender. Congrats to Cosby on playin good tonight. #44,#11,#24? you guys are three of the best players I've seen play this year. All of you guys have a good stroke and great Chemistry with each other. Hope you guys do good, and I hope Wartburg AND THE BLUE CREW get another shot and knocking off the best team in the state. Rangerbook06
And another thing: I don't know if it is the same situation at Wartburg, but over half of Cloudland's basketball team plays football, and probably weren't there at that game.... You probably know this as well as I do: Games played in the summer don't mean a thing.
ballplayer12
You are right, games in the summer do not mean a thing. But if they did mean anything then Cloudland losing in overtime to Wartburg during the summer should count for something.

They've earned that right! THE SQUAD You are wrong my friend. The TSSAA has the final say so. 2006 DIVISION I SECTIONAL TEAM INFORMATION The Executive Director of TSSAA shall set the sectional site in the area of the regional winner. In order to be considered as a sectional site, the facility must meet the following seating criteria: Class A - 1,000; Class AA - 1,250; Class AAA - 1,500. These are to be permanent seats and based on 18" width. So I dont know how Cloudland will host if their gym capacity is under 1,000.
