firefulmer
Just so everyone knows, it was partially coach Williams fault for Irvin's rough play. He put Irvin in because of Jones and Sain's inability to contest Bolivar layups. I was sitting three rows behind the bench that night and i hear coach Williams tell Irvin "not another layup." Not to say he had to elbow Kemp in the face, but when a coach tells you something like that what are you susposed to do? Just wanted to set that straight. By they way, i don't know Irvin personally, just telling fact. eridbro1, I don't know what you'd do in that case, or anyone I guess...but that could be interpreted many ways other than to just whack someone. By the way, he put Jerry Griifin on the floor about 5 minutes before that (and Jerry was no where near a layup. I saw this and I wouldn't lie on the guy...especially after all this time has passed). I don't believe there are any really hard feelings toward Liberty here at BCHS. But like I said...maybe the young man will learn from the experience. But I don't believe now that Coach Williams told them to play that rough. I do believe he told them something along the lines of play hard. Maybe this kid just took that too far. Over now anyway. Let 'em just play ball and may the best team win. Best to forget the past and move on. We'll all know in 10 days!!! I know guys...bump. I'm off the subject and I'll either get back on it or hush! I doubt it...but this talk about Goodpasture being WAY better then McMinn Central...I'm gonna put this to rest right now...you said you played against Goodpasture right, meaning you play for that joke of a team they call White House...well let me give you a small dose of reality...yall were 2-2 v.s. Goodpasture this year...McMinn Central trashed yall...so what is your reasoning for saying Goodpasture is way better then McMinn Central when in reality, they are about as bad as yall??? topdoggnbball
They will not murder Central...you have lost your mind if you believe that... Mcminn has a weak schedule compared to those teams. The girls are better in East Tn. West Tn reigns supreme until you prove me wrong. BluNWhiteH8Tribe
Well, McMinn Central would see either Haywood or Liberty Tech. Magnet in the second round...I think they could take either one of these teams...Liberty, the only teams they have played are Haywood and Bolivar Central...same with Haywood...I think slow-paced game favors Central when matched up with either team...I respect West TN basketball, but I think any team yall have is beatable... Yes you're right any of these west teams are beatable....but I highly doubt that it'll be by anyone from outside of the west.....

I think that might be the most ignorant post Ive ever seen...Its obvious you know nothing about either team Goodpasture or White House...I agree that White House didn't have a state calibur team this year but to call them a joke? They made it to sectionals along with the other 15 teams by playing all out and I dont even like White House. Goodpasture is a good team and Im not saying the McMinn Central cant beat them because I dont know enough about them. I know you have a heck of a player in Beau Brown but you took that post a little too far. Think about all the teams that didnt even make it to sectionals. Were all of them jokes? Im not trying to get in an argument but I think we all know that was going a little out of line.

Liberty also played four Memphis AAA teams Raleigh Egypt, Wooddale, Whitehaven, and Fairley, one of East Tennessee's finest, AA Austin-East, and a very good A ball club Union City. Oh, and did I mention they beat all of these teams, so please don't say that Liberty has only played Bolivar and Haywood even though they are better than any teams McMinn has played all year. peaceoff20
As a McMinn Central fan, I get very worried when I see that people are already looking past Alcoa. It would be dangerous to do so. They are well coached and play the game the right way. They have Brandan Warren and have beat McMinn Central in the show before. Maybe Central should take care of Thursday before looking ahead to Friday and Championship Saturday. That said......McMinn Central is capable of having a very good tournament. They have 5 legit offensive threats. Many teams cannot boast that. Also, I have been to the state as an observer or coach for the last few years and it always seems that surprises. McMinn Central could be one of them. Are Bolivar, Liberty, Mitchell, and possibly Goodpasture better? Maybe. But great teams can go to Murfreesboro and have an off game. In any case......I think it is going to be one of the best years for AA ball and I am looking forward to a great tournament.
