Yeah, you remember when the seats were all like weird different colors??? Well, they put in all blue seats...its actually pretty cool...

While I am a true RBS fan, I couldn't help but laugh at that one!

 

I go to school at MTSU and was speaking with someone about the Sun Belt tournament and they said it was a failure...except when Western Kentucky was playing as they brought an army of people. With that said, I would say that the TSSAA post-season tournaments and events will bring in the most money for the MTSU/Murfreesboro area when it comes to sports coverage. No doubt Rick Insell will make sure they stay in Murfreesboro.

 

It's a great thing that they are renovating their facilities. You should see the men's and women's basketball locker rooms. They have a weight room nicer than any nearby SEC school. I am really glad they're getting rid of the outdated astro-turf. It's a wonder we haven't had many devastating injuries on that field. In the next couple of years, we may get many upgrades to Floyd Stadium depending on the success of Rick Stockstill. The plans for the baseball stadium are outstanding.

 

One of our best widereceivers, Chris Henry, had a season ending injury in the home opener against North Texas this past season. That foam carpet we got in there now couldn't have helped. I want to say Chris twisted his knee or foot on the turf.

Today for me the jumbotrons helped since I couldn't see part of the court on the far side of the court because of being behind the goal. So I say Upgrade

The Trons were great. Could see from different angles.

 

At the OVC tourny a display with #'s of the on the floor players, names, points and fouls was flashed at dead ball periods. It was nice.

 

Something to think about when up-dating the Murphy Center.

I know something like a lineup board, a board that shows who is currently in, how many points/fouls they have, and maybe a stat board...just some thoughts...

That'd be nice, but let's remember that that was at the GEC if I'm not mistaken

I thought in years past I remembered being able to know foul situations, FG/FT %, etc. because it was flashed on the 4 sides of the Center Court scoreboard. That really takes alot away from staying in the game for fans. You have to remember what the PA guy said and forget about any %'s. They should flash that on the J-trons!
