Good game by both teams, Powell hit the ball well and made the plays in the field. That was really good for them to win that game headin into the game against the dragons, Powell also beat Lenior City 3-1 today in 5 innings but lost to Catholic 5-1. Played a very good game agaisnt Lenior City then came out against Catholic hittin the ball but right to them. Good luck to powell the rest of the year.

Yes, Powell beat us the other day...very good performance from both starters we just booted it around and Powell made plays...thats how it goes sometimes...at least we got a few out of our system before the real ones start...BTW...great play early in the game with the double cut to throw out our guy at home...perfect throws was the only way we got thrown out at home...congratulations and good luck the rest of the way...Hope its as good next time at our place....the kid that hit a bomb friday night hit two today against McMinn...one landed about 15 minutes ago and the other is still in orbit...one of the farthest i have ever seen hit...we we are off to Florida to play 6 games over Spring Break.

I saw Powell over the weekend at the Oak Ridge play day. Their hitting has improved a lot since last season. I was very impressed. They played more like a team, which is good considering last year. It should be a good game tonight. Both teams have to watch the errors and get some good hits.

 

Tonight we (Clinton) open up our season against Powell at 5 o'clock.

Sorry it took so long to get back to ya DHEAT...i just got back from Florida...yeah if ur talking about the bomb I gave up at Chat State...yes that is the longest one i have ever seen...I wonder what those people were thinking when I ran into their yard to get that ball...to this day i have never seen a baseball go that far...Basile's was a blast but the one Tanner hit was incredible...I still don't know how he got around on it to this day...a 2-2 fastball up and in...not many will hit it much less hit it over powerlines and road and a house...the ball was flat when I picked it up....GOOD LORD that was a shot!

 

Anyway...I'm on the hill Wednesday against WB...you should come with KB.

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
