Points Heading To Bristol: I look for Jeff Gordon to win at Bristol this weekend <_<

.) Jimmie Johnson: 690

.) Kasey Kahne (-50)

.) Matt Kenseth (-78)

.) Mark Martin (-90)

.) Casey Mears (-136)

.) Jeff Gordon (-151)

.) Dale Earnhardt Jr. (-156)

.) Kyle Busch (-160)

.) Dale Jarrett (-200)

.) Clint Bowyer (-219)

.) Jeff Burton (-224)

.) Tony Stewart (-226)

.) Elliott Sadler (-229)

.) Brian Vickers (-234)

.) Martin Truex Jr. (-248)

.) Jamie McMurray (-268)

.) Ryan Newman (-269)

.) J.J. Yeley (-273)

.) Robbie Gordon (-275)

.) Denny Hamlin (-281)

.) Greg Biffle (-296)

.) Joe Nemechek (-308)

.) Kevin Harvick (-312)

.) Terry Labonte (-319)

.) Kyle Petty (-333)

.) Reed Sorenson (-337)

.) Ken Schrader (-342)

.) Kurt Busch (-344)

.) Michael Waltrip (-360)

.) Carl Edwards (-363)

NOTE: two-time chase qualifier Jeremy Mayfield is in danger of missing the chase for the first time this year as he currently sits in 34th in the points standings (a whopping 410 points behind points leader Jimmie Johnson).

I'd hate to look at the stats and see how many of the first 26 races for each of the last three years now that Jimmie Johnson has been leading the points standings. Kasey Kahne has bounced back nicely from that sophomore slump and is racing like the guy who the fans really embraced as a rookie two years ago. Rousch's consistent duo of Matt Kenseth and Mark Martin appear to be headed toward another chase run this fall. Speaking of bouncing back look at Jeff Gordon and Dale Jr. in the points right now. Had Gordon not had terrible luck back at Daytona and Jr. not had the late pit road error at Las Vegas than both of those guys would be sitting in the top five easily right now. Kyle Busch is the third Hendrick Motorsports car in the Top Ten while former champ Dale Jarrett has been running conistent thus far this season. Clint Bowyer and Jeff Burton sit right on the edge of the Top Ten giving Richard Childress racing some glimmer of hope for this season.

What do you all think about all the new rookies in Nextel Cup?????

Ex: J.J. Yeley, Clint Bowyer, Denny Hamlin

Right now I like the way Martin Truex Jr. has been running. He's got a shot to make a run at the chase if he can just keep up the consistency :thumb:
