Draft Shake-Up

Recommended Posts

The Saints have Duece and now that no. 2 pick should have lots of teams hopping around to get a trade with the Saints for sure. Look for either the Jets or Raiders to make a huge push up to that no. 2 It may be the best thing for the Saints to have Bush sitting at no. 2 . I'm not sure the Saints take Bush I really see them trading down and getting more picks, IF they stay to Ferguson and force the Titans to choose between Bush and one of the 3 QB's which way does Resse go....Huge shake up indeed.

If the Saints take Ferguson do the Titans take Reggie Bush and hope to get a QB in the 2nd rd. say a Omar Jacobs, Ingle Martin or Reggie McNeil.

Go with McNair or Volek or another veteran this season and try and get a guy next year such as Brady Quinn - Notre Dame, Tyler Palko - Pitt or Troy Smith - Ohio State or if they come out early Brian Brohm from Louisville or Kyle Wright from Miami.

A guy like Bush could really help the Titans offense regardless of who is QB.

This just absolutely fries every experts draft boards. It is also causing a lot of late night meetings in a number of NFL War Rooms.

Anyone who didn't think that the Texans talking to Williams was anything more than a smokescreen is flat out lying. Can't wait for the first "talking head" to say he thought this would happen. And watch his nose grow as he tells us!

The ripple effect could be huge. For the Saints, someone is going to have to give up a number of draft picks to jump into their slot. If they hold still and don't pick Bush (Deuce is still there, but will they feel they need a new replacement-or something to juice season ticket sales?), then the Titans start getting offers from every direction. Do they take Vince or pass on the franchise QB to steal Reggie?

This could also see all three QB's fall in the draft.

This will make for a FUN Saturday!!!

Saints are saying they will take Bush with the number 2 pick.

They are saying that to generate interests in trading down. The Saints don't want Bush, they want D'brickashaw. They are going to try to milk everything they can for this pick. I see the Jets trading up and taking Bush, and I said that would happen a couple of months ago.

But who really knows what will happen? No one. It is going to be fun watching how this all plays out.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
    • No movement on Chester? South Gibson? Gibson County?
    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
