What are common coaching supplements currently being paid in TN? Please do not include "additional" payments from boosters.

 

Football- HC

Assistants

 

Basketball- HC

Assistants

 

Wrestling- HC

 

Baseball- HC

Assistants

 

Softball- HC- $1000 gross

I know I head coached softball and was a assistant coach middle school football the same year and recived the same suppliment for both: $1,000. After taxes (way less), well you get the picture. I didnt do it for the money, but it would be nice to be reimbursed for you time.

In Metro,

Head football --12% of salary

assistants--9% # of assistants depends on # of players.

freshman head coach--9%

freshman assistant (1 only) 6%

 

Head basketball--12%

assistant (1)--9%

Freshman (1)--9%

 

Wrestling Head--10%

Assistant (1)--6%

 

Volleyball Head--9%

 

Head baseball and softball--9%

assistant (1 each)--6%

 

Cross-Country, Golf, Tennis--5% or 7 1/2 % if boys and girls

 

Track Head--9%

assistant (1)--6%

freshman (1)--6%

 

Athletic director--9% (6% if you don't have football).

 

The head principal is able to split these % among different people if they want to.

Also, there is a 21 1/2% limit even if you are doing 3 sports.

 

Most other counties now use a flat fee amount for coaches to my knowledge.

Asst. Coaches (2) $1500

 

Basketball HC $1500 and 1 month of your base

Asst. coaches (1) $1500

 

BB/SB HC $1500

Asst Coach (1) $1000

 

Volleyball HC $1500

No Asst.

 

Track $1500

No Asst.

 

Wrestle $1500

No Asst.

 

A.D. Either $1500 or 1 month I am not sure

      That would have been Coach Benjamin who was his legal Guardian and the DB coach.  I was the LB's Coach that was barely older than the players (I was going to UT for school and had started at Greeneville since my Sophomore year when Z coached there and he asked me to help coach)

      Going on over a month now and still nothing, rumor mill or not I think a decision needs to be made. Maybe they don’t have anyone wanting it and maybe rumor mill don’t need it they are taking this long to come to an agreement.

      Gibson County proved last year you can win it all with 6 players and if I’m not mistaken they only played 5 in the championship game. I would expect them to be good by end of season but I think losing Hart is a huge loss.  Summer camp gives teams a preview of what to expect and it’s exciting to see where teams are at. The Fillies return 3 starters and the 6th man that is 6’2” and I think she is going to surprise folks this season.
