wartburg cancelled on account of rain i dunno if they are rescheduling

Thanks for the info, Double R. Actually that's what I heard yesterday-from what I hear Wartburg got some pretty bad storms yesterday. I wonder if any other county teams got to scrimmage Friday? If so, how did they go?

I made the trip to Jackson County to watch Sunbright in their first action of the fall. The Tigers won 1-0 with Jordan Young and Brandon Thompson hooking up for a 70-yard touchdown toss as the only score in the 2-hour scrimmage. Sunbright looks pretty good, but they have some work to do if they are going to challenge for a Region Championship. Keep an eye on big Ashton Byrge and a sophomore Josh Mason, they both will be key players the next couple of seasons. Brandon Thompson played well with over 100 yards receiving and picking off a pass at safety.

Hmm, that's interesting, King B- I do believe that Thompson will be a player to watch this year; but like you say they'll probably have to get better to deal with the likes of Coalfield and Harriman. I wonder if Wartburg has any more scrimmages scheduled? The more I think about it, I don't see why Wartburg couldn't have scrimmaged yesterday. I know there were storms yesterday, but it didn't seem to stop anyone else in the area or did it? Well, I'll just keep watching Coach T for any more info about county scrimmages this week. So, King B, does Coalfield scrimmage or do you know? I think that they will be a team to watch this year- certainly worth the price of admission!

Scott scrimages Chatanooga Tyner Tuesday and Cumberland Gap friday and I think oneida has a scriamge with union soon

      And that needs to go, Charter ,private ,magnet,city and any school that operates differently than pure public schools should be separated. What really needs to be done is address urban and rural. About all the usual powers have access to several kids from other schools period.

      Slightly off topic from a gender standpoint but just observed several boys volleyball games in the Knoxville area for a short spring season. The guys seemed to have a great time. There were several club players on each team but several football, basketball and tennis players involved. Knoxville Catholic, Maryville, Heritage, Knoxville West maybe William Blount had teams. Thanks to Coach Brent Carter from Knoxville Catholic/K2 for getting it together. I’m sure the coaches involved got several laughs trying to coach guys that really had no idea what they were talking about but pretty athletic and competitive. Catholic’s best basketball player told the coach he had played a lot of 2:3 and 1:3:1 but never a 3:3 LOL Maybe it will catch on with some more schools next year.
