REGION 7-3A PREVIEW

Recommended Posts

Losing Logan is a huge loss. But he doesn't play one down of defense so I don't get the 17 point difference in the game. So far Obion Central has faced two teams with what you call a "feature back", (Matt Hewett from Dresden and Antonne Cunningham from Gibson Co.). While Hewett did run for quite a few yards (around 150 I think), we did hold him out of the end zone. Cunningham was completely shut down being held to 44 yards and no scores. My point is is that so far the Rebels have done well with teams that feature one go-to guy. Everybody knows Flowers is the man at Dyer Co. The offense will be fine for OC. The ball is spread around evenly to both slot backs and full backs. The Rebel D will have to play a great game, not necessarily stop Flowers but contain him. I think this senior heavy team will be up to the challenge. I'll pick the Rebels (go figure right) :thumb: 14-7 over the Choctaws.

Well i have a ton of respect for anyone who can do that to antone cunningham cause he has been putting up monster numbers for the past couple of years on everybody. And Savion Hayslett is a very talented LB for sure. I just feel like DC has better athletes and more team speed than the Rebels and the big play will kill OCC. But i really do hope i'm wrong i have a ton of respect and admiration for

Coach Bowling and the players and fans of the Rebels. Good luck to ya'll.

Milan Middle School could put up 40 against Gibson Co. That is not a good argument....And, I didn't say OC couldn't do anything without Logan, I just said they would have trouble. Big Difference..And remember it is just an opinion!

Milan Middle might could but Martin Westview couldn't.....

Westview-20

Gibson Co.-6

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
