From what I can understand with this post you are saying that people in Warren Co. think that the defense is great and you feel otherwise and think that the Cavs offense is going to be that Horse to come and crush us.

 

On the contrary. The WC defense is very good, and should be admired. But without an offense, their good play is as wasted as the beauty of a crushed butterfly.

Matt Turner isn't gonna help any situation on the line. I am truly suprised to see anyone give him another chance. as someone who has played during his coaching tenure at warren co the first time, I do not expect great things from him. The first thing Warren County needs to do win is get rid of their current AD Andy Jacobs and Principal James Bennett. Niether wish to see the football program go anywhere. Jacobs, who lacked any ability to coach, was named to the position of athletic director without much hesitation. Bennett's ego is in the way of another coaching staff doing well as he doesn't want the old warren county teams to have their " glory" stolen from them. These situations were highlighted when the only coach in recent years to be of much an actual coach, Heath Woods was forced to resign after two years. Then guess what?? Heath Woods coached Carter High School to a near perfect season (9-2) and lost in the playoffs. The ability has been here, the interest for the program has not. Then shortly after Woods' resignation, Gary Rankin was once again passed over for Gerald Tidwell, who was least then stellar in his coaching abilities. The politics of Warren Co. are what is beating Warren Co. Football.

If Warren County would just have just given Heath Woods some time, he would have got it together. The kids were starting to buy into system, and plus Woods knew how to get the kids fired up. There is one thing Woods would not have done was schedule those weak teams like Dekalb County. I am a little bias because I played for Woods. He resign because the school board would not give him money to buy some better weight room equipment, so he figure if the school board was not willing to help the program then why stay because the program would never get better. I am very happy that Heath has gone to Carter and started winning. About Turner, he will do better than the O-line coach that is there now.

Heath Woods also has more athletes surrounding him now. Instead of the slow boys from Warren County, he has a few guys that run some 4.4;4.5.

Ok I understand what you are saying. I still think that Cookeville is going to win this game. and with the fair bieng in town I think that the crowd will slim also. I really want the boys to win I just can't see it happening this week just wait till Cumberland Co. and Franklin Co. guys we will go to the playoffs again.

Enough about the fair or coaches. Lets talk football.

 

I think it will be a two touchdown win for the cavs if not closer. cookeville will have to throw and give the qb some time to make a play and then hit them with a long run or 2. Itll be hard to run without our fullback but who knows. As for warren if they can score a few scores then this can be a good ball game.

The Pioneers are going to have to get some offensive momentum, I think that they will see the end zone this week. I think that there is a player with big play capability but I haven't seen it from him. He has to be one of the fastest players on the team. If he can't catch a deep ball then run a few wide reciever screens or some reverses. Lets see what happens.

I just believe that Turner will be able to relate to the kids better and teach them the game. Turner has played at the college level.

It is about time they go out and get an O-line coach that knows how to coach. Turner will help the problem but the fair has always been a problem for the pioneers. The players will be out until eleven the night before the game, when they need to be at home getting ready mentally for the game. That’s what I think, it does not mean much!!

You are absolutely right. County fairs and football do not go together! The coach should have his "assistants" patrol the midway and any players they catch should be made to run next Monday until their %#/! 's fall off!
